Twinburg is a small town in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,541 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Twinburg was Daniel Webster who arrived in 1814 and built a cabin on the east side of town. On May 25, 1815, Webster's wife Jane gave birth to their first child John Webster and named him after Daniel Webster. The Websters mowed lawns in town for a living from 1815 until 1850 when they started a grocery store. In 1860 John married Alice Fenton and open a school for girls called "Alice's School for Ladies." In 1865 Twinsburg got its own post office which was renamed "Twinburg" after General George Washington Butler who had been mayor of Cleveland earlier that year. In 1870 twinsburger children were sent to live with their grandparents in Mentor because it seemed like things were getting too rough around here. After three years they returned home and continued attending school at Alice's School until 1880 when it closed down due to financial trouble caused by the Panic of 1873. From then on everything went downhill for the Websters as they lost all their money- including their home which still stands today overlooking downtown Twinburg (although it has been extensively renovated). Thanks to some very hard work by both parents over many years (and despite having no education themselves) theWebster boys eventually managed to reopen Alice's School in 1890 as Blossom Lawn Elementary School with grades pre-K through 8th grade and continue providing instruction there until 1990 when it became shuttered again due to budget cuts which also affected other local schools across the area including Twinsburg High School (now known as Hometown High). Although much has changed since then - most notably since repeal of prohibition made alcohol available once more within city limits - one thing has not changed: citizens of Twinburg continue working together day and night long hours just to keep up with what newcomers are doing! In 1814, the first white person to set foot in Twinsburg, Ohio was John Stephenson. He built a cabin on the now-demolished Pottsville Road and named it Independence Hall. The town started as a small community of about fifty people and grew rapidly due to its location near the mouth of the Scioto River. By 1828, Twinburg had a population of two hundred people and became an early center for shipbuilding and trade in the Great Lakes region. The town's growth continued until 1848, when it was dissolved due to financial problems.
