Twinsburg is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio and the location of the twin townships of Twinsburg and Grafton. The population was 9,724 at the 2010 census. The two townships are located within Grafton Township, Summit County. The township was organized in 1836, and named for John Quesnel and James Krieger, two brothers who were partners in a mill. In 1860, it was moved from its original site on the west side of I-77 to what is now its current location on the east side of State Route 233 (SR 233). At that time, it consisted of only a few homes. By 1870 it had grown to about 150 residents, with three churches and one school. In 1902 it had an additional church built; by 1912 there were six churches and thirteen schools in Twinsburg Township. During World War II Twinsburg became home to many soldiers who served in the military forces Deployed or stationed there during that war: United States Army Air Forces personnel numbered more than 1,000; over 100 civilians worked in local defense plants; more than 60 businesses were dedicated to war production including twenty-six manufacturing companies and sixteen service businesses; ninety-eight families took part in Victory Garden Week 1942; numerous patriotic displays were made throughout town

Twinsburg, Ohio was founded in 1811 by John and Martha White. The town was named for the two sets of twins who were born to them. The Whites lived in a small log cabin on the banks of the Cuyahoga River until they moved to what is now Twinsburg in 1828. They built a larger cabin andnamed it Twinburgh after their home town in Scotland. In 1842, the Whites moved again, this time to what is now Cleveland. John White died in 1849 and Martha married James Weikart. They raised three children: Julia (1851-1937), Bernice (1853-1957) and Charles (1855-1938). James Weikart died in 1893. The family continued to live in Twinsburg until 1949 when they sold their land to the Municipal Corporation of Cleveland for development into an area known as Midtown Cleveland . The Whites played an important role in early Twinsburg history by helping to develop its economy and social infrastructure. Their contributions are commemorated with street names such as White Street, Goodyear Avenue, Black Creek Boulevard, Weikart Road and more. In addition to their interests within local government, the Whites also served as advisors on numerous civic projects during their lifetime including designating Twinburgh Park as a national park in 1924; building a library and gymnasium at Central High School; serving on various city boards;and being inducted into the Ohio State Medical Association Hall of Fame in 1951
On November 3, 1815, the first United States census was taken in Twinsburg. The population of Twinsburg was 1,553.
