In 1870, two brothers bought 1/4 mile (0.6 km) of land south of the tracks from Jno Hagopian to build what would become known as Hagopian's cornfield No. 2; this property now includes most of downtown Twinburg. In 1880, Edwin Hogue opened a flour mill that would produce high-quality flour for churches and other businesses in central Ohio until 1925 when it closed down due to competition from more modern mills. In 1890, Phebe Crouse built what is now called "Hogue's Drugstore" on Main Street just west of Third Avenue - one of the first buildings in Twinsburg designed specifically for retail sales rather than use as a hotel or schoolhouseIt still stands today and is used as a museum today! The first school in Twinsburg was opened in 1797 by Rev. Amos Kendall and taught basic reading, writing, arithmetic, geometry and navigation among other subjects. In 1818, Capt John's son George Troup Custis became owner of the place where Twinsburg now stands when he sold part of his father's holdings back to the General Court for $100 cash plus 10 cents per acre as compensation for being displaced as an Indian fighter during the Creek War (1805-1811). Afterward, George maintain a small farm there while also working as an overseer on various plantations near Cincinnati. In 1825, Maj.-Gen William J."Wild Bill" Hickok fought at Buena Vista against Mexico under Ulysses S Grant which resulted in over 100 dead including many Americans stationed at Twinberg barracks including James Fenton who later became mayor of Cleveland Heights One year earlier on October 5th George Washington Custis had married Elizabeth Smith née Dunham at Trinity Methodist Church with full religious rites conducted without any drums or trumpets because that was then considered shameful within polite society .
