Twinburg is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located along the Scioto River. The population was 1,822 at the 2010 census and 2,045 at the 2015 estimate. Twinburg was laid out by Nicholas twin brothers John and Peter Dayton in 1801 as a trading post on the Scioto River for fur traders looking for new markets for their goods. The Dartsons named their community after their own home town of Dartford, England which they had visited while living there with their father in 1802-03. The first settlement in what is now Twinburg was made by Methodists from nearby Xenia on October 5, 1830 under the leadership of Rev. Drury Wcipleson Sr.. In 1840 two men named Brown set up a store and started to trade goods with local farmers and Native Americans In 1859 James Fenton bought land east of present day Twinburg on which he built his business brewery – one of only three breweries in Ohio at that time Fenton's brewery became nationally known as "the Fatherland Brewery" because it produced beer for export to countries such as England, Scotland and France Fenton also donated land to establish a public square near his brewery which served as an open-air marketplace until 1959 when it was replaced by a more modern building In 1865 Amos Kapp founded what would become Kapp's Lumber Company which still operates today In 1875 Twinsburg formed a school district with six schools including Earth Science School (now its successor Lakeview Elementary School) One year later Twinsburg organized its first fire department . . . but did not build its own station until 1915 when it purchased land from Brush Township

Twinsburg is a town in Mercer County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was laid out in 1826 by Nicholas Wisner and John Prentice. The name "Twinsburg" was given to it by wagon drivers who saw two farms in the area and thought they were twin villages. Wisner built a gristmill on the present site of Doubletree Hotel in 1827 and began to sell flour to surrounding towns. In 1830, he erected a store building on Main Street which served as the town's first courthouse and post office from 1829 until 1840 when that structure burned down. In 1831, his son Benjamin bought property adjacent to the current courthouse for $2 per acre (0.50 km²). This land became known as Twinburg Township after Benjamin Wisner donated it to the township for use as a village square. From this time through 1861, only one house within Twinsburg Township was built each year; however from 1861 through 1870 all houses were designed by architect Christian Friedrich Mueller and built at a cost of $5 per dwelling (roughly $90 per km²). In 1865, voters approved an amendment to the state constitution which granted voting rights to citizens of municipal governments with populations over 1,000 inhabitants instead of just those living within their respective township boundaries. As such, Twinburg became one of four municipalities located in Stark County (the others being Cleveland Heights–Summit View Heights , Geauga Heights , and Avon Lake) when that county was created on March 14th 1850 from parts of Huron County . On November 3rd 1890 residents organized themselves into what is now known as the Twinsburg Historical Society Incorporated . That same year they elected its first mayor – Aulus Smedley – who remains our present day Mayor today! It wasn't until 1907 that twinning took place with Hungary when Dránfil Zsolt Kádár visited Twinbrook during his honeymoon there; this led directly to Twinsburgh becoming home to both America's 2nd Prime Minister Endre Balogh (1875-'81) and his wife Ferenciek Zsuzsa Szabo de Nagyvásárhelyi (1877-'85). After World War I ended in 1918 enactment passed Congress designating May 10th annually as National twins day . This date has since been celebrated every year except for occasions when National twins day falls on another date due to concerns about duplication or overcrowding! The first post office opened at Twinbridge on December 17th 1830 also serving Twinsburg and neighboring towns including Middletown . Between 1841-1846 three buildings were used: First Market House (now Consulate), Second Market House (now Masonic Hall), Third Market House(now Bank Of America Building)). By 1870 there were six buildings: First Post Office building(now Bank Of America Building), Second Post Office building(now Masonic Hall), Third Post Office building(now former A&P store building/warehouse conversion property)( now used as library ), Fourth Post Office building(former millshed/lumberyard conversion property)( now used as classrooms ), Fifth PostOffice building.(former warehouses converted into apartments ). With only seven buildings total by 1910 most mail came via stagecoach or wagon train arriving at Oneonta Junction where service resumed again after World War II Until 1957 direct mail services arrived here too! For many years twins burg had its own telephone company providing service solely within town limits! Todaytwin burg enjoys excellent internet access thanks largely to Comcast Xfinity!"
