Twinsburg is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, with a population of 71,570 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Scioto County. The city was founded on December 3, 1824 by John and Anna Swan and is named after John's great-grandfather, Daniel Swan. The two blocks that make up the center of town were laid out in 1827 by husband and wife Elijah Ladd and Eliza Case. In 1829, Brothers George Hargrave and Lewis Hargraveadraff bought land in what is now Twinsburg from Daniel Swan for $240 per acre ($14 million at current prices). They started to build a house on their lot and named it "Hargrave & Company". This company continued to build houses until about 1830 when Amos Davenport became head forester for Scioto County and ordered them all to stop building because he wanted new land for himself. Davenport offered the brothers $1 per acre (equivalent to $ at present) for their property if they would move away from Twinsburg. George Hargrave replied, "No thank you; we will stay here." So Davenport took his family back to Illinois where they started another small business called Hargrave & Case Emporium which continued until 1840 when Amos Davenport died without heirs apparent so Brothers George Hargrave (George)and Lewis decided to take over the business themselves under the name GARVEY & COACHES INC.. With this new name they built a larger brick store on High Street which continues into present day days as Garvey's Tavern! The first factory in Twinsburg was established by Simeon Beal in 1861 as Beal's Manufacturing Company making shoeshine machines and other production items such as wagon parts etcetera! By 1865 this factory had become Beal's Automatic Factories making machine tools including power looms! This company operated continuously until 1971 when it was merged with Arthur Cram Co who still operate today! In 1895 twinsburger women formed their own local chapter of United Female Anti-Slavery Society also known as MOTHER EARTH'S HELPERS! From 1916-1917 Sisterhood produced filmstripes about life in Twinburg for Northern Ohio Woman’s Home Mission which aired nightly on local TV station WXIX . These films have been preserved by local history museum CurrieMuseum located within walking distance from downtown Twinburg

Twinsburg is a city in and the county seat of Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 497 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron–Canton–Toronto, OH metropolitan area. The name "Twinsburg" derives from two words: "twin" + "borough". The first settlers in what would become Twinsburg were Methodists who arrived around 1793. In 1821, Jonas Neely founded the town of Newburgh on high ground near what is now downtown Twinburg. When Ohio State Route 7 was cut through Twinsburg in 1926, Neely donated land to make way for it. The town's original courthouse was built in 1927 and still stands today as a museum component of the Warren County Courthouse Museum Complex. In 1872, James Hargrave and his wife Phebe moved from Elyria, Ohio to Twinsburg after purchasing 5 acres (2 ha) of land there from John Atherton. They named their new home "Hargrave House." By 1890, Hargrave had added an extensive barn and other buildings to his home which served as the village hall until 1906 when he sold it to William Cramer for $500 per acre ($4 million at current prices). It wasn't until 1907 that Twinsburg had its own water system with a well that locals could use to get their drinking water from nearby Lake Erie instead of having to go all the way downriver. In 1916, brothers Wm. Gentry and Orville Gentry founded the Gentry-Neely Paper Company which became one of twin burg's leading businesses by 1925 with over 100 employees manufacturing paper products such as billboards, posters and advertising materials including aluminum cans which became popular during World War II because they could be made into art pieces due to their durable design
On December 15, 1815, the first reference to Twinsburg was made when James K. Polk mentioned it in a speech in Cincinnati. The village was founded by Nicholas Gorden on a tract of land near the present-day intersection of US Route 5 and State Road 10. The village's name derived from two small ponds that were located near its core. In 1837, twin towns were formed by merging Twinsburg with neighboring New Lisbon.
