Twinburg is a town in Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. The population was 6,052 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Twinburg were farmers who arrived in 1795. They named their town after their two brothers—George and Isaac Twinsburg. In 1812, the United States Congress added to Trumbull County by splitting it into three parts— twin towns became Twinburg and Uniontown (now Westlake), and east of Uniontown was Scioto Township. In 1814, when Trumbull County was divided again, Twinburg got its own post office. In 1907 the John Fenton Company built a distillery and gin located on the eastern edge of town near present day Canal Park. The company stopped production in 1912 but continued to sell spirits until 1922 when it closed down due to prohibition laws which had changed since they were passed. The Distillery Building still stands vacant today and serves as a commercial building for nearby businesses including PNC Bank & Trust Company and DTE Energy Services Inc.. In 1970s Twinburg started to grow with new housing developments being built along Canfield Road just north of Canal Park Distillery site. At that time there was no water or sewer service available within town limits so residents had to rely on private wells which often caused water shortages during wet periods or during snow melts which led to high water bills for many residents! Today much of what used to be single family homes have been replaced by duplexes or triplexes units; however many people remain close-knit despite this recent growth!

Twinsburg is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo metropolitan area. The first settler in Twinsburg was David Wilkinson in 1814. In 1825, James Dickey and his family arrived from Pennsylvania and founded the village of Dickeystown on the Scioto River near what is now Twinsburg. In 1830, Daniel Boone moved from Kentucky to become the first white man to live permanently in what is now Twinburg when he settled there with his family. He erected a log cabin on the banks of the Scioto River opposite where present day Mark Twain Road meets it. In 1835, John Fenton organized a Methodist church in Twinsburg with Rev. Jonathan Edwards as its pastor. The town's first school was built that year by local farmers using logs brought over from nearby Delaware Township for classroom use. A log courthouse also stood while several other buildings were constructed before it burned down in 1856. A new school building was completed and dedicated by President Franklin D Roosevelt on November 5, 1938; it remains functioning today as an administrative building for schools in Muskingum County government departments including Twinsburg-Fremont School District #1 In 1865, Harry Treadwell established Treadwell & Co., grain merchants and milliners located about south of current day twinbrook Village Rd., just east of which lays State Route 687 (now Tuscarawas Street). The business thrived until 1870 when a fire destroyed most of their merchandise stores along with their mills throughout Muskingum County due to lack of insurance coverage at that time The community began to rebound after this event but again lost its vitality when railroad tracks were extended through town sometime around 1880 making transportation available for elsewhere within Muskingum County instead That same decade saw construction begin on what would become one of Twinbergs largest landmarks - Masonic Hall & Lodge which still stands today - designed by noted local architect Jens Møller Architects and finished in 1886 following $3 million raised by private donations . Soon thereafter many other businesses followed suit such as groceries store "Green Gables", blacksmith shop "Beefy Bob's" (later known as "Moses' Shop"), saddlery shop "Pete's Place", hotel "Two Harbors" which served as both a boardinghouse and hotel until 1912 when it became known simply as "Hilton Twinburgh" - all while continuing to operate under one roof ..... Over time these businesses attracted more residents who worked Downtown instead of outside mall/restaurant setting causing some tax rates even higher than they are today ...... TodayTwinburgh continues maintaining much downtown business activity despite high taxes though services have been reduced since 1990s .....twinborough continues being home to many notable people including Mayor Mark Twain who resided there during formative years
In 1814, the United States Census enumerated Twinsburg as a town in Muskingum County. It was organized on July 16, 1815 by Order of the President James K. Polk. The first post office opened in 1816 and was called "Newburgh". In 1827, the town's name was changed to "Twinsburg." On May 5, 1907, the towns of North Canton and South Canton amalgamated to form what is now Columbus, Ohio. On November 3, 1913, Twinsburg became part of the new city of Cleveland when it merged with other municipalities in that area. On February 1, 1920, Cleveland annexed Twinsburg into its boundaries. The original population of Twinsburg was 434 people; however on December 31st 1921 it had reached 653 people due to increased industrialization in the area which caused an increase in population growth rates throughout much of Northeast Ohio during this time period. Twinstown High School (now known as University Heights Middle School) opened for grades 9-12 on October 25th 1922 and soon became one of northeastern Ohio's most popular schools due to its large enrollments from both rural and urban areas as well as its excellent teaching staffs who successfully blended traditional high school curriculums with college level coursework while still providing opportunities for extracurricular activities such as athletics and music programs.
