The early settlers used these weapons for hunting and protection against Indian attacks. By 1823, there were several gun stores in the town. These stores bought and sold firearms. In 1836, a law was passed that required all handguns to be registered with the government. This law led to the development of the Shotgun Manufacturing Company in Troy. This company produced shotguns using receivers made from brass or other materials. In 1853, new regulations were put into place that made it illegal to sell firearms without a license from the government. As a result, many gun dealers left Troy during this time period. However, a few continued to operate until around 1870 when they too shut down due to prohibition laws being passed at this time. During World War II, many people in Troy decided to get involved with arms production because of the need for firearm components throughout the war effort. Many businesses within town started manufacturing arms including Gunsmiths Arms & Ammunition which manufactured rifles and pistols as well as grenades and shells; Rifle Emporium which manufactured machineguns; Pistol Factory which manufactured pistols; Machinegun Shop which manufactured machineguns; and finally Ammunition works which manufactured ammunition for both personal weapons and tanks

Troy, Ohio is a small town in Summit County, Ohio. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron-Canton-Summit, OH metropolitan area. Troy is located on the border of Summit and Muskegon counties. The first people in Troy were Native American settlers who established a trading post in 1812. In 1814, General John A. McClernand built a fort here to protect United States troops during the Mexican-American War. The fort served as a base of operations for McClernand's army until it was abandoned in 1847 after Ulysses S Grant defeated Mexico in that conflict. In 1865, Union general Ulysses S Grant used Troy as his headquarters while he fought against Confederate General Robert E Lee during the Battle of Gettysburg. In 1870, residents decided to change their name to Troy to honor national heroes George Washington and Thomas Jefferson (the original spelling of "Troy"). The town became an incorporated village in 1898 under then- Village President Augustus Kelley. Troy experienced significant industrial growth during World War II when aluminum production increased significantly due to America's need for war materials such as airplanes and tanks; however, this wealth also produced corruption and social unrest within the community which culminated with months-long riots in 1944 following allegations of sexual misconduct by local military leadersagainst local womenfolk known collectively as "The beauties." That same year saw the founding of what would become one of Ohio's most successful community development organizations – The Arts Council – which has successfully lifted Troy out of its depths over the years through programming including music education and job training programs for inner city Youth A new shopping mall opened up near downtown Troy in 1998 becoming one of the largest malls eastof Dayton/Daytona Beach; however this harsh economic environment led to its closure just 2 years later followed by multiple failed attempts at reviving it In 2006 voters passed an initiative allowing for annexation by neighboring Muskegon Heights Township; however this annexation was nullified two years later due to lack of support from both township officials and residents

Troy, Ohio is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 54,812 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Cuyahoga County. Troy was founded by Nicholas Doby on May 6, 1811 as an outpost on the Scioto River for fur traders hunting down game in what is now central Ohio. In 1824 it became a town and in 1829 it became a village. On July 7, 1830 Troy voted to become an incorporated city under the provisions of the General Assembly of Ohio Act 10th St., which created municipal government throughout the state of Ohio. The first mayor and council were John A. Greasy (1830-38) and Solomon Payson (1839-41). The first school was built in 1840 at its current location on Third Street between Maple and Elm Streets. It served as both a daycare/ nursery school for children until 1865 when it became known as Troy High School until 1995 when it merged with Case Western Reserve University's Cleveland campus to form Case Western Reserve University - Cleveland Campus Incorporated (Cleveland Campus Inc.) On August 15, 1907 Troy experienced its first tornado outbreak when one struck just east of downtown causing minor damage but no fatalities or injuries. That same year saw another severe tornado outbreak that destroyed much of downtown Troy along with many homes and businesses leaving behind what are now known as "The Tornado Alley". This included three tornadoes that touched down within minutes each near Third and Fourth streets across from City Hall; all resulted in significant damage with few injuries reported however over $200,000 worth of Structural Steel were lost northbound between Fifth Street NW and State Road 9 southbound between Cherry Boulevard SE And Second Avenue SE In late 1921 during World War I veteran James Gossett settled down in rural eastern Stark County outside Toledo after returning from battle service in Europe Gossett donated land to make way for what would become Troy Municipal Airport which opened November 16th 1921 with military use only five days after he donated the land Gossett also contributed funds towards building two fire engines and two truckhouses used by firefighters while stationed at Municipal Airport – these were completed prior to his death on October 8th 1922 . When airport property reverted back to Gossett upon his death his legacy continued through donations such as new housing developments being built on runway acres adjacent to Municipal Airport today including dozens of high-rise buildings serving not only Kentwood but also surrounding communities . With Samuel Eliot Morison's book "Ohio: A History" published in 1938 this history started coming full circle with locals able to travel back into pre-war years memory continuing to support local governments like those present today
