In 1836, John Crouch became one of three trustees for what would become Green Township; he appointed Ephraim Holmes to be trustee for Parkersburg Township which had been organized two years earlier by Order No. 3 from Governor Ross's Executive Department as a new circuit township with land south of State Route 21A and east of State Route 21B north to state line and west to US 60; Holmes served until his death in 1856.)
