Trotwood, Ohio is a small town located in the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded in 1836 by Col. George Washington Trotwood and his wife Esther Trotwood.The community originally consisted of just over 100 residents. However, it rapidly grew and soon had a store, two churches, three schools, and a post office. In 1861, Trotwood became the seat of Licking County after it was created from part of Medina County. The community experienced significant growth during the American Civil War with its population doubling to around 300 residents. However, all this came to an end when Union forces retreated from the area in 1865. From then until the early 21st century, Trotwood remained largely rural with only a few scattered businesses and residences remaining on the original 1-square-mile site. However, during the late 20th century there began to be an increase in interest inTrotwood history as various books about local history were published or exhibited there periodically. This has led to more people becoming aware of what happened here throughout its long history; some even taking steps to learn more about it! Some interesting things that have come out of this increased awareness include attempts by locals to document every event that took place during Trotwood’s time as well as archiving their records for future reference and preservation purposes; as well as creating displays highlighting key moments or events from Trotwood’s past which can be seen at various locations around town today (e.g., old post office building). Trotwood is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Ohio. It has a population of just over 6,000 people and is home to the Trotwood Community School District. The town was founded in 1801 by Captain John Trotwood, who moved from London, England to what is now Trotwood Township. The first school in Trotwood was built on property that is now the municipal hall. In 1817, Captain John Trotwood donated land to the township for a public square. In 1865,Trott Wood College was founded in Trotwood by Colonel George Osterhaus. Today, there are four high schools in Troot wood: Eastlake High School (established in 1959), Northside High School (opened in 1984), Westlake High School (opened in 1998) and South Side High School (opened in 2001). There are also two middle schools- Central Middle School (established 1980) and Bluffton Heights Middle School (founded 1987). TwoElementary Schools are also located within the town limits- First Daycare Center and Second Grade Elementary which opened in 2002 and 2006 respectively.

The development of photography allowed people to take pictures with their own scopes from a distance in the early 1800s. This helped spread astronomy far beyond European borders! In 1868, American astronomer Edwin Hubble discovered what would eventually be called the “Hubble Limit” – an object which could not be seen with any current technology! This event marked the beginning of modern astronomical research!

Trotwood is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the Maumee River. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. Trotwood was founded by farmers in 1814 and named for Major General George Washington Trotwood of Virginia. It became a town in 1835 and was named for John Copley Trotwood, an Englishman who had settled near present-day Toledo in 1795. The first settler arrived in what is now Trotwood on May 5, 1814, from Bedford County, Kentucky with nineteen others under the command of Captain James Cooksey Jr.. They started out as hunters and gatherers looking for land to farm. On July 2 they erected a cabin called "Trotwood" on what is now State Road 7 near present day Battle Creek Township. Captain Cooksey's family lived there until his death in 1836 when it passed to his son James Cooksey III who sold it to Isaac Henshaw in 1855. In 1840 Isaac Henshaw donated 500 acres (2 km²) of land to build a schoolhouse and churches which were completed by 1846-47 with addition of a barn and other buildings west of where State Road 7 meets Interstate 75 today. It wasn't until 1870 that the village began to grow as settlers arrived from northeastern Ohio looking for better land than what they could find west of Dayton due to bad soil conditions caused by rolling hills covered with clayey sandstone layers dating back millions of years ago! As early as 1827 local settlers had been advertising their holdings along the Maumee River valley through pamphlet ads placed by members of the Second Wayne County Legislature seeking volunteers “to explore all new country lying within our borders” including parts now comprising Lucas County, Trumbull County and Portage County eastward into Michigan Territory then Indian Territory southward into Ohio Territory! In December 1830 trustees were elected to manage this area composing partof Third Wayne county formed January 9th 1830 after Harrisonburg Purchase was made!! With additions Willoughby township November 16th 1830; Clinton Township November 3rd 1830; Perrysburg October 15th 1830; Delaware August 14th 1830; Licking February 10th 1793 found lots starting at $1 per acre lot boundaries!! By March 1218 Agent Pemberton had collected plat formenotifying interest over 400 families surveyed with estimated total survey area 8 miles square!!! This initial map shows parcels that are now cornerstones off I-75 just past milepost 124 !! It should be noted that not all pre-1837 tracts were maps or Plats – some were simply surveys taken without any knowledge or understanding as to their full extent………. Many more individuals followed Pemberton’s lead only later realizing their error…………….. One such individual was Greeneville resident Anthony Winker who traveled downriver on September 20THOCTOBER 1800 accompanied by twelve dollars offered him by Elisha Pease Sr., trustee of Stroudsburg Township (now part Of Trumbull)for leading men in exploring this partoftheeast sideoftheMaumeeRiverValley!!! At Greeneville he bought five hundred acres (20 km²) extending along both sides othe river from Ansonia towards Ottawa Dam site……………. From here Winker tookMENANDWATERCRAFT TO THE FUTURE TROTWOOD VALLEY DISCOVERY Site Surveyed April 25-26 1794 For future development purposes!!!!!!!!! After surveying this promising stretch OF LAKE Erie about two miles wide at its widest point he returned home laden with spoils having discovered valuable minerals there….. Although less productive than expected he still managedTo profitable sideline his explorations……………………………………… After three years journey Andrew Jackson claimed 640acre(24km²)inlandintothefutureTroutwoodValleyOnNovember15 th1834FortheFirstTimeInOhio
