After World War II ended, many factories closed down due to economic decline while others relocated outside of Cleveland into newly developed suburban areas with greater job opportunities. However, some Tiffany companies managed to survive until the late 1990s when they went out of business entirely due to technological advances and changes in market demand

The Tiffins were pioneers in the area and started a small trading post on the now demolished site of present day Tiffin Township. They began growing crops and raising livestock and eventually built a log cabin which still stands today. The first school in Tiffin was built on the same location as the current schoolhouse in 1838. In 1865, Tiffin became a township. On December 3, 1907, Tiffin became an independent city.
