Tallmadge, Ohio is a city located in the southern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 44,912 at the 2010 census, making it the largest city in Clark County by population. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area and is served by the Cleveland–Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Tallmadge were French traders on their way upriver from Detroit to trade with Native Americans in MIchigan during 1701-1702. The French founded a trading post here on July 3, 1792 known as Fort Niagara before moving eastward along the Maumee River and establishing posts at Greenfield (July 12) and Tiffin (November 20). The first permanent settler here was Solomon Grundy who arrived November 20, 1800 from Delaware County, Pennsylvania under contract with George Rogers Clark as Surveyor General for Indiana Territory and commander of Indian Affairs under President John Adams. In 1803, when Ohio became a state, Tallmadge was included within that department but remained unincorporated until 1827 when it became an incorporated village after being surveyed by Elisha Kent Cooke under patent #11018 dated April 15th Abril 27th 1827 In 1865, when Cleveland Municipal Corporations Act took effect providing for municipal organization within autonomous Counties or Townships within Municipal Districts; Tallmadge became one of its earliest members having been organized as a township on December 4th 1865 . In 1976when City Council adopted Resolution recognizing 100 years since incorporation into City Limits;the Borough annexed portions of neighboring townships including: Uniontown (August 2), Arlington Heights (September 6), Perrysburg (October 5), Lincoln Heights (October 14) which all had been part of old Forest Park Township . On October 1st 1978 community celebration marking 150 years since incorporation followed by dedication ceremonies with Mayor David Lissack officiating . After passage of former Mayor's resolution designating February 1st each year as "Tallmadge Day" ;the Borough celebrates annually such event on December 1st

Tallmadge, Ohio is a small town located in the Geauga County, Ohio region. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Tallmadge is located on the west bank of the Delaware River about twelve miles north of Cleveland and six miles south of Akron. The town was founded in 1811 by John Tallmadge and his family as a trading post on the west bank of the river. In 1816, John Tallmadge erected a log cabin and named it after himself, Tallmadge Station. In 1821, he sold his share in the business to James Sennett and others. In 1828, James Sennett donated land for a school at what is now called Heidelberg Heights School District No. 5 Campus Site II. After years of construction and fundraising by students and community members, Heidelberg Heights High School opened its doors to students in September 1929.
