The capability to walk on two legs became more widespread through Out of Africa migration into Africa about 55,000 years ago. This Migration allowed for more people from different parts of the world to mix together and create a new culture based off of cooperation rather than competition. With more people walking around freely, they began developing abilities such as carrying goods up hills or down valleys, which gave them an advantage over their predecessors. Bipedalism slowly decreased throughout history due to factors such as injury or disease. Tallmadge is a city located in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 20,521 at the 2010 census and it is the county seat of Logan County. It is part of the Cleveland metropolitan area. The name Tallmadge comes from one of the first settlers, John Tallmadge, who came to America in 1810 and soon became a prominent farmer and settler in what would become Logan County. The early history of Tallmadge can be traced back to 1795 when squatters platted a town site on high ground east of present-day downtown that eventually became known as Tallmadge Heights. In 1814, American Revolutionary War veteran James Caldwell laid out a town square on land now occupied by Elmira College. Named for him, Caldwell's Square developed into what is today downtown Tallmadge. In 1826, local resident Amos Prentice organized an agricultural society with the goal of acquiring enough land to support a permanent village or town center within reach of his farmsteads on both sides of the Scioto River. The society purchased 640 acres (2 km²) west of present-day downtown and named it Greenfield Township; later it acquired 2,000 additional acres (8 km²) which formed what is now Logan County’s core rural area today." The original village used two common schools – one for children and their parents living near by, and another for adults studying abroad or away from home – as well as two Masonic Lodges that functioned as meeting places for farmers and others interested in exchanging knowledge about agriculture or other natural sciences with fellow countrymen during those days before railroad travel made such interaction all but impossible . To this day there are several buildings still standing from when early residents lived off subsistence farming practices while larger towns like Dayton mushroomed around them thanks to waves OF new arrivals after independence .....
