Tallmadge, Ohio, is home to one of the largest ammunition stores in the United States. The store was founded in 1892 by John A. Tallmadge and his wife, Lizzie. In 1961, the Tallmadges merged their businesses with Armour Co., Inc., making it one of America's first ammo conglomerates. In 1984, ArmourCo.'s parent company, Dow Chemical Company, merged with American Ammunition Corporation to form McMillion-American Ammunition Corporation. American Ammunition Corporation became a subsidiary of Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1998. In 2007 Winchester Repeating Arms Company divested its interest in American Ammunition Corporation and all other subsidiaries to form King & Spalding Ammo Division (K&S). The history of ammunition can be traced back to 1892 when John A. Tallmadge founded one of America’s first ammo stores in what is now Tallmadge, Ohio. At that time there were only a few rifle shotts placed on high hills for fired shots across town at night as a warning signal to warn residents about possible Indian attacks or other threats theretofore unknown. So an idea was born for an ammo store where shoppers could purchase rounds of various calibers affordable enough for everyday use without fear of injury or death from indiscriminate gunfire during wartime events such as black powder shootings or buffalo hunts that took place near townspeople homes daily! In 1861 John A. Tallmadge merged his businesses with ArmourCo., Incorporated which became America’s first Ammo Consolidated Firm! In 1984 the parent company at Dow Chemical Company combined with American Ammunition Corp who becoming part of Winchesters Repeating Arms Company before being divested again in 2007 into King & Spalding Ammo Division which still operates today!

Tallmadge is a town in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,827 at the 2010 census. The community is part of the Columbus, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tallmadge was founded in 1811 by Simon Moulton and others as an agricultural village on the Scioto River. The village grew to become a small town with a population of 1,000 in 1830. In 1875, the town became a local school district and then a full-fledged municipality in 1903. In 1968, Tallmadge adopted its current name; it had been known as Redding since 1800. The earliest settler in what is now Tallmadge was Simon Moulton who arrived there from Connecticut on July 3, 1811 with his family. He built himself a cabin near present-day Union Station on the Scioto River before moving upstream to create what would become Tallmadge Township on November 15th of that year. It wasn't until 1830 when Tallmadge' first store opened that things really started to take off for this place! A post office was established at Tallmadge on December 7th, 1830 and remained open until it closed on September 30th 1911 due to lack of interest from residents (the last post office closed because of mail Fraud). During most of its history as an agricultural village (from about 1800 until 1930), Tallmadge relied heavily upon slave labor for its many farm operations including raising crops and tending livestock; however during the early 1840s free black settlers began arriving here too and soon enough free blacks were working side by side with white farmers in all aspects of everyday life here from harvesting produce to building homes and businesses! This period also saw some important political changes happening within Medina County – starting around this time there began to be increasing pressure for land reform among upper class whites which eventually led to the formation of various townships across our county including those located in central Medina County such as Redding which received their own landowning white families during this time period! One event that took place right here at home back then was Thanksgiving Day 1847 when some 300+ African Americans came together together from nearby Newark Liberty Broad Ripple Railroad Depot under leadership of John Hope Taylor Agricultural Society into one huge feast/dinner thanksgiving dinner famed throughout Ohio & America! It's said that many folks hereabouts still talk about that day today - especially young people today who enjoy spending some quality time away From technology screens & devices…towards something more connected with ourroots&history!!! The town of Tallmadge, Ohio was founded by George Washington in 1790. The town grew quickly due to its location and accessibility to the water resources of the Great Lakes region. By 1800, Tallmadge had a population of over 500 people. In 1812, the Town of Tallmadge passed an ordinance establishing a school district. The first public school in Tallmadge was built on what is now First Street. In 1814, the State of Ohio granted a charter to the Village of Tallmadge which became one of the first villages in Ohio. On November 3, 1816, the Village accepted a donation from John Coots for building and clearing land for a Methodist Episcopal Church. The cornerstone for this church was laid on April 15th, 1817. Tallmadge continued to grow as a small community until it reached its peak during World War II when it had a population of over 1000 people. After the war ended, Tallmadge slowly began to decline as more and more businesses relocated out of town or closed their doors permanently due to economic conditions within Ohio and abroad. However, some residents stubbornly kept their homes and continue living in their communities until they died or moved away from them later in their lives. Today, remnants of tall madges past can be seen throughout much of downtown Tallmadge where large piles of bricks still remain from older buildings that once stood hereabouts; while also numerousURLs (eBay Square Mall - former Sears), several restaurants - notably Joe's Pizza - have closed up shop since 2007 following various financial hardships brought about by demographic changes within suburban malls across America; finally there are numerousURLs (iPad Mini mall) which contains most recent development/retail revitalization taking place with high-end chains like Applebee's among others coming and going along with local cultural attractions getting stronger every year
