At that time, ammo production was done primarily by hand-loading using lead shot, shell casings and other small objects called “bullets”. In 1865, when military service ended in Ohio, the Arsenal was closed down and all remaining ammo production stopped. However, this did not mean that Ordnance had gone away; ammunition continued to be produced at various locations throughout Ohio until it finally ceased operations in 1972. Over the years, various types of ammunition have been made available such as shotgun shells (toadstool), pistol rounds (fireball) and self-propelled artillery rounds (grenade). Sylvania, Ohio is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Sylvania is the largest community in Stark County and one of its most populous municipalities. It lies on the eastern edge of the Greater Cleveland area and is bordered to the north by Euclid Heights and to the east by Painesville Township. The first Europeans to visit what is now Sylvania were French traders who passed through in 1683. In 1786, John Trumbull purchased land from David Ladd for $1,000. The first settler in Sylvania was Nathan Sayer who arrived in 1788 with his family from Connecticut. He built a cabin on a bend of the Scioto River and named it after himself, Sylvanus (meaning "place where trees grow"). In 1800, Trumbull sold part of his holdings to Nicholas Brady who set up a sawmill there called Bradyville Mills which later became Brady & Armstrong Sawmills Company Limited. In 1807–08 James Kapp built a gristmill on high ground near present-day downtown Sylvania for use by local farmers; this mill remains operational today as Kapp's Mill LLC. A post office was established at courseerville in 1809; it was moved to its current location two years later due to flooding that destroyed many small villages along the Scioto River during an early summer rainstorm. Donovan McNamara started growing potatoes on his farm north of town about 1900; he patented his potato variety "McNamara" in 1902 and made it available for sale nationwide through mail order beginning in 1905. McNamara's potatoes quickly became one of America's leading exports; they helped make Sylvania one of Cleveland's most prosperous communities during those days before World War I stopped production altogether due to Austrian immigration restrictions). A new courthouse (built between 1912 and 1916) served as courtroom 2 for numerous county court proceedings until 1925 when Superior Court Judge Jerald Peele replaced it with a new building which still stands today (Euclid Heights Municipal Building). Stark County Executive James Ahern dedicated portions of four acres north of town towards centerfield parkway on October 12th, 1978 as "Oneidas Park", giving rise to confusion among some residents because Oneida Lake does not situate within township limits like other public parks do- instead it falls within unincorporated Stark County territory bisected by Ashtabula Avenue/Highland Road/Old High School Road boundary line?!?!? On November 5th 1980 Community Development District No.(CMD) voted 6-0 not including myself or any representative elected officials not having personally seen or interacted with Oneidas Park since inception vote me no because I am very familiar with both Township boundaries(Ashtabula Ave./Highland Rd./Old High School Rd.) perfectly well known even though no map has been provided showing property lines between Township(s)& CMD so I could make an informed decision! AHD isn't responsible for anything that happens inside Oneidas Park following our vote! Unfortunately my sentiments have prevailed...On behalf of all citizens living within Oneidas Park I apologize if this caused any inconvenience
