Struthers is a small town in the Sandusky County, Ohio, United States. The population was 984 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. Struthers was laid out in 1812 and named for Christopher Struther, an Englishman who had settled there in that year. The first post office was established in 1815, and the first church was built in 1817. The town quickly grew to become a commercial center with a heavy reliance on trade with surrounding villages. In 1821, a railroad connecting Akron and Cincinnati were built through Struthers; this helped to spur economic development and make Struthers mores than just a small agricultural community. By 1830, the town had two churches and eighteen stores. In 1840, Struther's daughter died unmarried at age twenty-one; her father then married her sister instead and became guardian of her estate. This gave rise to some controversy as it appeared that he had forced his wife into marriage against her will – an accusation he strenuously denied. Nevertheless, by 1850, Struther's son-in-law had created over one hundred businesses including several banks and breweries within the limits of his new settlement – creating what would eventually be known as "the struther boom." By 1860, however, most of these businesses were either defunct or under receivership due to financial troubles caused by increased competition from larger communities along the route of the American Railroad Company (ARCO). The struther boom ended around 1870 when ARCO merged with other companies forming the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). This led to significant unemployment among local farmers which further exacerbated social tensions between rural versus urban populations. Despite this negative impact on struther economy., many residents remain loyal to their village nickname "The Friendly Village". TodaySTRUTHERS retains its active commerce while also preserving its unique culture -including its annual Harvestfest where citizens gather together to enjoy traditional farm activities such as farming tours and haymaking demonstrations!

Struthers, Ohio is a small town in the Ottawa County region of Ohio. It was established about 1800 by Scots-Irish immigrants. The name is derived from an Irish word meaning "to strut." The original settlers were farmers and their families. In 1812, Struthers became the county seat of Ottawa County. The town began to experience growth in the early 1900s as a result of heavy industry in Struthersville, which was located just outside the town limits. By 1920, the population had reached 1,500 people and by 1930 it had reached 3,000 people. This growth continued through the years until World War II when Struthersville experienced a decline in its population due to shipping and other industrial activities that left the town without jobs or income. However, over time Struthersville has regained some of its former glory as a consequence of various businesses that have been founded there including: C&W Tire & Rubber Co., United Dairy Workers Local 1510 (now United Food and Commercial Workers), American Crystal Glass Company, First National Bank (now Wells Fargo), Stroudsburg Area School District No. 1-1992 (now Jenks Independent School District), and more recently; Struthersville Arts Council which features exhibits throughout the year at various local arts organizations such as: The Gallery atrium at strutterersville Community College,strutterersville library system - strutterersvillencitylibrary branch
Struthers was a small village in the close-knit area around Chardon, Ohio. It ceased to exist when it amalgamated with the more populous Chardon Township in 1868.
