They had five children: James (1831-1915), Samuel (1833-1912), Charles Wistar (1835-1920), Alfred Keyes (1838-1925)and Marianetta Keyes (1840-1945). Charles Wistar became president of United States Steel Corporation during World War II In 1876,Struther erected a two story red brick schoolhouse on Main Street near where he lived now known as "The struttery". This school building remained active through all formats of education including public schools through 1922 when it burned down due to an accidental fire that destroyed much of downtown Akron It has been said that this fire may have been caused byinetwork between local high school students who were trying to get revenge for losing an alleged bet over cigarettes In 1924/5 Mrs Jane Sibley donated three acres adjacent to her home along Washington Street just east of Main Street which housed what is now the park called "Jane Sibley Park" after Mrs Sibley herself
