Struthers, Ohio is a small town in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 5,693 at the 2010 census. It is located on the border of Cuyahoga and Stark counties. The town was founded by George Struthers in 1814 as a farm community called Blue Grass Corner. In 1826, Struthers and his wife, Sarah, moved to what is now Struthersville after purchasing land there from David Livingston. The couple raised their three children here and established a successful agricultural business which prospered for many years until it merged with another larger firm in 1907. After World War II, many people left Struthersville for jobs in urban centers such as Cleveland or Detroit; however, few remained long enough to develop its unique character or history. However, local historians have preserved much about this small town's early days thanks to oral tradition and research over the past few decades. Today, strutherstown retains an interesting mixture of old-fashioned village life with some modern amenities including several independent businesses (most notably a library), two churches (one Baptist and one Methodist), two schools (grades 7 through 12), and an annual festival that attracts thousands of visitors from all over Northeast Ohio (including those who come just to see the live music).

A post office was established here in 1839, and within a few years, Struthers had become an important community. One of the earliest businesses in the town was a grocery store, which operated from 1847 to 1868. In 1886, Struthers became home to its first library. The town's population reached 2,000 by 1907, and it grew rapidly as more people moved into the area. By 1920, Struthers had outgrown its smalltown atmosphere and began to develop into a larger community with a variety of shops and services. In 1984, the town announced plans to annex neighboring townships for housing development purposes; however, this plan met with opposition from some residents who felt that their township would be lost without their own community center. Today, Struthers is home to a variety of businesses including several restaurants and stores as well as two schools - one public and one private - as well as several churches and mosques. It remains an important part of Ohio's history culture and has been called "the geographic heartland of Ohio."
