Streetboro is a small town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1853 by Irish immigrants. Streetsboro is located in the southern part of Mahoning County and its boundaries are the villages of Canfield and West Chester. The first weapons in Streetsboro were shotguns and pistols. Shotguns were originally designed for hunting animals, but they became popular for self-defense purposes after being adapted to fire ballistics rounds such as buckshot. Streetboro is a small town located in Licking County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,362 at the 2010 census. It is the smallest municipality in Licking County by land area and the second-smallest by population. Streetsboro was founded in 1830 on a tract of land that became part of Athens Township. In 1868, it merged with neighboring towns of Athens and Fairfield to form what is now Streetboro Township. Streetsboro lost its charter as an incorporated town in 1970 but has continued to exist as a unincorporated community within Township government since then. The first settler in Streetsboro was Watterson Sells who arrived in 1830 from Kentucky with his family. He surveyed the plat for what would become Streetsboro and named it after his home state, Virginia, which he had visited while visiting his sister there that year. Watterson's brother Jacob also settled in Streetsboro and operated a farm until he died circa 1835; his widow married Seth Allensberger of Fairfield (the earliest settler in Athens Township). In 1868, when Athens Township broke up into two parts due to annexation by Toledo, Ohio (then known as “The Great Lakes Territory”), both Towns were offered charters to merge into one new township including Springfield but both declined because they wanted their own independent townspeople – streetsboro citizens did not want their name attached to another township which they felt might eventually be annexed by Toledo again. In 1870, aftermath of the merger saw three more residents arrive fromFairfield as well: John Fenton (1871), Augustus Denny (1872) and Malachi Parsons (1873). The final addition brought overall population growth for Streetsboro from 2 settlers per square mile (uml) at the time to 5 per square mile within ten years; this rate would only drop below 1 per square mile over time due various factors such as increasing commuting distances and suburban development outside of town limits. By 1920 however,Streetboroughs population had shrunken back down to just under 1000 residents once again due mainlyto natural attrition with no sign of any future growth or annexations forthcoming – until Municipal incorporation happened 3 decades later! Municipal incorporation actually happened on May 15th 1870 via an act passed by the Ohio General Assembly following ratification of referendum results showing overwhelming support for it among local citizens (& even some non-citizens living within city limits voted overwhelmingly yes!). At first all inhabitants were required to serve ½ year terms on municipal board before being allowed full citizenship status & voting rights; however over time more & more people have chosen voluntarilyto adhere strictlyTo principlesOf self-governance & continue To participate fully In Town government affairs despite having no say In actual decisions made! In 1902 when Stroudsburg Borough added its portion east off US 22 joining Streetborough Municipality (& making it finally an official borough), most residents elected Proctor Mayor instead Of William Herrington who served 2 terms total (& resigned upon becoming mayoralty candidate against Proctor). This event signals another shift away from traditional Town democracy towards professional governance where mayors are accountable directlyTo voters rather than bureaucrats!

Streetsboro is located in the Athens-Clarke County, Ohio metropolitan area. The town was founded by John Wesley Hardin in 1807 as a post office on the east side of the Scioto River. It was incorporated as a village in 1836. Streetsboro became an city in 1907 and became a part of the Columbus, Ohio metropolitan area in 2020.
