By 1933, Condon had closed his online store due to financial troubles but his legacy lives on in Blvd Opticals which continues to sell quality optical products today! In 1935, The Optical Emporium merged with the Cincinnati optician Brown & Williamson and changed their name to Brown & Williamson-The Optical Emporium. In 1966, the store merged with Saginaw Optics Corporation and became SaginawOptical Corporation-The Optical Emporium. On October 10th of 1984, The Optical Emporium closed its doors for good after more than 50 years of business.
Streetsboro is a small town in the county of Stark, in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 2,521 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Miamisburg, OH-7 Micropolitan Statistical Area. Streetsboro is located on the southern border ofuyork County and it shares borders with Trumbull County to the north and west, Noble County to the east and south, and Scioto County to the southeast. The community began as a small settlement on land that was donated by George Washington in 1796 for a military post known as West Point (the present day University of Toledo). Streetsboro grew rapidly during its first years, due in part to an influx of immigrants from Russia who had immigrated there during the Revolutionary War. By 1800, Streetsboro had a schoolhouse, Baptist church, Methodist chapel and four storehouses. In 1814, Streetsboro became a village when it merged with neighboring townships of Ottawa and Lebanon Hill. One year later, streets were laid out within Village limits and a courthouse was built. In 1824, Streetsboro became one of thirteen original townships incorporated into Stark County under special law granted by Congress pursuant to Article XVII of the United States Constitution which provided for township incorporation when sufficient numbers qualified under certain conditions including economic development opportunities such as manufacturing or agricultural processing plants; increased access to education; good transportation connections; railroad construction near town; access to markets outside town; an area free from hostile Native American tribes living nearby

A post office was established at that location in 1815, and a store was built on the present site of the town in 1829. The first school in Streetsboro was established here in 1830. In 1840, Streetsboro became a part of the newly created state of Ohio. In 1907, Streetsboro experienced its first tornado outbreak when six tornadoes touched down on the town within two days. These tornadoes killed five people and injured over fifty-five others. In 1915, processions were held throughout the city to commemorate America’s participation in World War I. The parade route followed Main Street from Market Street to Paintsville Road where participants would cross over into West Township for lunch at a local restaurant before returning home via York Road
