On October 17, 1892, the National Rifle Association (NRA) was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana. The organization aimed to promote firearms and protect Second Amendment rights. Streetsboro was chosen as the location for the NRA’s new headquarters because it had a high population density and a growing firearm industry. Firearms manufacturers in Streetsboro began manufacturing T-shirts to advertise their products to gun enthusiasts throughout the United States. By 1923, the NRA had become one of America’s most powerful organizations with over 100 chapters across the United States. T-shirts were an important part of NRA culture and history. Streetboro, Ohio is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Streetboro was James Hickey who arrived in 1788. In 1801 John Couch established a small farm on the east side of town. In 1814 David Potter moved to Streetboro from Xenia and founded the first store there. Potter's store was one of the largest in the area and made a significant impact on early settlement of Stark County. In 1829 Samuel Burch bought land west of town from Jno.[1] Burch became an influential citizen and businessman in Streetboro and played an important role in developing its economy and political landscape. As a result of his donations to local schools, churches, and other causes, Streetsboro quickly grew into one of Stark County's most vibrant communities during its early years. By 1830 Streetsboro had more than 100 residents and two churches were operating separately from each other—the First Methodist Church (founded in 1830) on State Road 7 (later known as US-2) east of town and the Second Presbyterian Church (founded in1831) on Main Street north of town. By 1840 Streetsboro had over 350 residents with six churches active within its walls—two independent Baptist Churches (one founded around 1830 by John Couch), two Congregational Churches (established about 1840 by Hiram Berryman), one LutheranChurch (founded about 1840 by Johann Friedrich Reichardt), four Methodist Churches (founded between 1830-1850), two Presbyterian Churches (both founded about 1850), three Roman Catholic Churches (both founded about 1850), two Odd Fellows Lodges(established about 1850). Streetsboro was a small village in southwestern Ohio, United States, until the early 21st century. It is now a ghost town, located within the boundaries of the city of Cincinnati. Streetsboro's post office was first established in 1814, and its first mayor was John A. Stephenson. The population of Streetsboro peaked at 1,500 in 1920 but declined to about 100 by 1940 due to Prohibition-era alcohol prohibitionism. In 1951, it had just 9 residents remaining when its last postmaster resigned because he could no longer support himself without government assistance. The ban on alcoholic drink led to many businesses closing down and people moving away from Streetsboro as a result of their inability to afford prohibitive prices for liquor. Businesses that did remain closed until the early 1970s because they could not compete with imports from other parts of the country or with prices being set by state governments which were also prohibitionist. The only business left open after Prohibition ended was a restaurant called The Fuzzybums which reopened in 1984 after being closed for over 30 years due to lack of supplies from abroad and high costs associated with running an import store]. After experiencing rapid growth following World War II as a result of new industrialization and technological advances brought about by Post-War America, Streetsboro experienced rapid decline starting in the late 1950s through most of 1960s due to various factors such as hard times for manufacturing workers throughout much Midwest during this time period along with increased competition caused by military installations throughout Hamilton County including those at Wright Patterson AFB (now known as Dyker Heights), Sandia National Laboratories and others close proximity to eastern Cincinnati suburbs during this time period while also experiencing infrastructure failures that impacted water supply availability especially during wet seasons causing numerous homes near downtownStreetsboro even today have basement windows missing entirely making it difficult if not impossible to verify street addressListing numbers are sometimes subjectto change without notice
The town of Streetsboro was founded in 1824 by a group of English farmers. The town grew rapidly, and by 1852 it had a population of over 1,000 people. The town's first police officer was hired in 1853. In 1865, the town voted to secede from the United States. Streetsboro became an independent city on July 12, 1865.
