Streetsboro is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 10,611 at the 2010 census. Streetsboro is part of the Cleveland–Akron–Canton, OH metropolitan area. The first settler in Streetsboro was Gideon Hager from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Hager and his family came to what is now Streetsboro in 1796 when they were one of the original towns in Cuyahoga County. The town was incorporated on November 3, 1825 by order of Governor George Washington Carver. It was named for Gideon Hager's older brother Ebenezer Hager who had died during the Amish War (1812). Streetsboro's early economy relied largely on agriculture but it developed into a manufacturing center after World War II with production of cars and other products coming from nearby Lorain General Motors Plant and its successor Union Carbide Corporation plant. In recent years Streetsboro has seen an increase in development as multiple businesses have moved there including two medical clinics, two job startups, several restaurants and bars, and a new high school which opened in late 2013. With continued growth potential within its boundaries and increasing development around it all that remains to be seen is how well this community will manage growing pains as well as continue to thrive while remaining rooted in its history.

The area that is now Streetsboro was originally part of Fayette County and was used as an agricultural frontier town during the 1800s. By 1836, when it became part of St. Johns County, Streetsboro had become a small city with a population of around 100 people. In 1851, Streetsboro became one of the first towns in Ohio to be created from sections of two other towns – East Liverpool and Franklinville – when those communities merged into one entity under the name “Streetsboro”. At this time, Streetsboro had a population of over 500 people; however, by 1900 its population had decreased to just over 100 people due to various factors such as development within nearby Cleveland and new arrival waves from abroad (most notably Italians). However, following World War I Streetsboro experienced an influx of refugees from Italy who were displaced by war-time violence there; this growth led to increased housing prices in town which inhibited economic development until after World War II when developers began building high-rise apartments and other commercial structures downtown. Today’s streetscape reflects how Stripes Boulevard once functioned as an important artery connecting different neighborhoods in town: today it features lively nightlife along its length while also accommodating larger crowds for events like Fourth Of July fireworks displays or special occasions such as Columbus Day parade regulations allow only pedestrians on certain blocks between 8pm-6amtpw throughout most weeks during summer months only). Additionally many older homes remain standing testament bothto early 20th century streetcar service that ended at Roadsville Avenue near Main Street & 4th Ave NW (now called Whitehall Avenue) & residential subdivisions built across renamed strips thereafter like Wilson Road/Washington Blvd., Stanton Rd./Daytona Dr., etc.; many residents still commute out into central business district each day via public transportation
Streetsboro was founded in 1792 by John and Susanna Young. It became a town in 1827. In 1859, it was the site of the Battle of streetsboro between the Union army and Confederate forces. The battle resulted in a Union victory and control of the town.
