The many features associated with later American industry - such as large production warehouses - were all potential products derived from this early day tobacco plantation business: most notably rolling mills to create Cigarette Paperboard boxes etc., bleach baths to clean out leaves before smoking them or tanning hides for leather exports
On November 5, 1871, Streetsboro was established as a town in Huron County, Ohio. It was named for Colonel John Streets (1784-1862), an early settler and landowner in the area. The first post office was opened in Streetsboro on October 6, 1872.
