BB guns first appeared in Stow, Ohio in the early 1800s. The town was founded by William H. King in 1824 and developed as a shipping center for goods brought overland from Canada. BB guns were used to shoot practice targets at the local school, and some even became common tools for hunters. In 1872, two brothers named Danforth started a rifle club in Stow that still meets today. They began selling rifles and shotguns to individuals and businesses in the town, and soon enough, BB guns were being used to hunt deer and other game on local property as well. By 1904, Danforth had opened a gun shop called The Rifle Emporium which continues to be operating today. In 1925, Stow became the capital of Ohio after it was moved from Cincinnati.
Stow is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located on the Scioto River. The population was 3,836 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Athens-Clarke County metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Stow was Nicholas Sabin (1784-1850), who arrived in 1811 and founded a small log cabin on the banks of the Scioto River. He named his settlement after his patron saint, Stowinus, a bishop from Tours, France. In 1812, Sabin's brother John settled in what is now Stow Township and began construction on a dam to generate power for his farmstead; this became one of the first hydroelectric power generators in Ohio. In 1814, John Davenport erected a frame schoolhouse in what is now downtown Stow and taught grades 1-4 until 1830 when he moved to Athens to become State Treasurer of Ohio under President James Kippey. In that position, he authorized the erection of two more schools – Mill Creek School (now part of East Liverpool) and Pickering Academy – both located around present day downtown Stow. By 1825, most residents had abandoned logging or farming forthe new industrial Revolution with its promise of increased production from steamboats carrying passengers upriver to Cleveland and other cities on Lake Erie; however, there were still some farmers living near Davenport's schoolhouse until about 1840s when they began moving away for better land or because their sons had enlisted in military service during the Second Seminole War outside Florida or during Mexican–American War inside Texas). After years of development by mostly individual farmers and entrepreneurs such as Quaker farmer Amos Kendall (1804-72), cotton gin manufacturer Joshua Chamberlain (1807-65), harness maker Ebenezer Cummings (1797-86), shoemaker Ezekiel French (1802-68), blacksmith Samuel Hagerty (1770?-1837?), author Isaac Asimov (1920-) and others who made their homes near dams or millstreams supplying waterpower for local agriculture or manufacturing operations including sawmills along Scioto and Monongahela riverside communities like Danville/Skagit Valley/Plymouth Village west downriver past Wooster Dam into Indiana Territory before turning northwest into modern day Ottawa County []], industry gradually replaced rural agriculture as Illinois Coal Fields opened eastward along mainstem Scioto River valley starting at Dunmore coal minehead about mile above mouth then following river upstream about 12 miles long []]]. By 1870 most people living west side [of Main Street east] were employed by big mills like US Steel Company where men worked eight hours a night picking rocks out of ore while womeniled beside factories making clothespins etc.] Female workers generally did not get paid as much as male workers but got sharecropped pay which varied from company to company[]. Development stopped abruptly when railroads came through[]]. In 1908 US Steel closed its plant leaving only three employees behind: two winding down mineshaft tours daily 9am & 2pm & one doing maintenance work on steel smelter roof... Most jobs disappeared with technology []]. However several smaller companies continued operation until blast furnaces went out OF USE IN 1929[]]). Today many buildings are still standing including old brick high school building which has been used as office space since 1950[]}. A few restaurants have survived but overall decline has occurred over time[]].

In 1836, John Brown shot an American sheriff in cold blood in Lexington, Kentucky because he felt that the government was infringing on his Second Amendment rights to bear arms. This event helped start the Civil War. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth using a rifleshot from a long rifle. This event caused violence across America and led to increased gun control laws being passed. Gun massacres like these have become less common over time as people have become more comfortable with firearms and know how to use them safely.

Stow was a small village in Union County, Ohio, United States. The population was 582 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland–Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Stow was Simon Snyder, who platted the village in 1811. A post office called "Snyder" was established in 1815, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1893. The townspeople built a gristmill on the Scioto River nearpresent-day Stow in 1828 and started to grow grain exports to eastern markets. In 1840, they erected a schoolhouse and began to provide education for their children. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Stow joined forces with pro-Union forces and helped defend against Confederate threats to Union territory around Perrysburg and Mud Creek Crossing. After the war ended, many residents returned home; only a few continued to live there into the 21st century. By 1870, however, grain production had fallen off due to competition from Midwest farmers growing corn instead of wheat; by 1890 only about one-third of its residents still lived there full time. In 1911 Stow had just over 100 people living there (less than half of what it has since been). Most notable members of early community include: General George Armstrong Custer (1863–1937), an officer with Ulysses S Grant’s army during the Indian Wars who later became Commanding General United States Forces Europe; Judge John Crampton (1860–1939), one of two justices on Ohio’s Supreme Court between 1901 and 1907; Drury Lane Theatre manager Adolphus Stone (1877–1966); Jens Jensen (1904-2001), head coach at Bowling Green State University from 1969 until his retirement after 43 seasons as football coach; Mrs Jane Addams (1862-1965), founder of Hull House social service organization which served poor families throughout Greater Cleveland area for more than 30 years before her death; Major John McCloy Jr., general superintendent for training military officers during World War II responsible for training servicemen at Camp Hallowed Ground outside Cleveland; evangelist Billy Graham (1920–1998); Mayor Clarence Clark Gossage Sr.; all men were born within three miles radius of each other or less within ten miles radius overall – meaning that most people knew each other pretty well despite having limited interaction outside their immediate vicinity This isolationism may have also be origins from local politics where Progresoan Party controlled both Union County government bodies at that time while Republican party held control over federal government body - this led some people viewng themselves as second class citizens
In 1814, the town of Stow was founded on the Ohio River. It became a part of the United States in 1792 and later became a part of the Cleveland-Akron area. On November 3, 1907, the town of Stow was renamed to Strongsville after Samuel Strong, an early settler.
