The history of tasers in Steubenville, Ohio can be traced back to the early 1800s. The first known use of a taser in Steubenville was in 1876, when two officers were Electro-Cordless Tasers used on two men for allegedly assaulting a local sheriff’s deputy. The devices were not well-received by the public and were quickly discontinued. However, they remain an important tool in law enforcement arsenals today. In 1984, Steubenville City Council passed an ordinance banning the use of tasers within city limits. This ordinance was later repealed after Mayor John Becker lobbied unsuccessfully to have it reinstated. In 2001, the citywide ban on tasers was lifted and again authorized the use of these weapons by police officers statewide. Today, there are over 1,500 law enforcement agencies across America using tasers as a form of policing. They are still used extensively throughout Europe and Asia where their use is sanctioned by government officials.

There is no one answer to the question of whether or not tasers should be allowed in public. Each situation will require its own review and decision. Some factors that would need to be taken into account include the severity of the injury, the age and weight of the person being tased, and whether or not there is any other way to deal with the situation. In some cases, people may feel that using a Taser is an appropriate solution while others may find it too dangerous. It ultimately comes down to personal preference and what feels safe for both parties involved. However, there is growing sentiment across America towards allowing Tasers in public areas. This change has come about due to concerns about excessive force being used against citizens and increases in suicides related to police brutality incidents. There are also many reports of people suffering serious injuries after being tased which causes them great financial hardship as well as health risks associated with long-term exposure to Electric Currents (EC). Ultimately, it will take more research before we can say with certainty how widespread or effective Taser use actually is outside of law enforcement settings. However, given that these weapons have been around for so long and continue to be increasingly popular among civilians, it’s clear that they deserve further consideration before they become fully accepted within society
On November 15, 2013, Steubenville High School students used tasers on three individuals who had been disruptive during class. The tasers were effective and stopped the disruptions.
Steubenville, Ohio is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Butler County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 6,794. The city is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded by German settlers in 1800 as a small town called Steubenville[1] on the Scioto River. In 1814, Steubenville became an incorporated village after successfully petitioning to do so from neighboring Vandalia Township. The village was renamed Steubenville in 1881 following incorporation into Dayton Township.[2] In 1920, Steubenville became one of two cities in Butler County when it seceded from Warren County; the other city being Cincinnati. On November 3rd that year, De Witt Pemberton erected a public statue to honor General George Washington at Main and Third Streets; this event marked the end of municipal governance within Butler County and its annexation by Dayton Township effective December 1st 1920[3][4]. The first mayor of Steubenville was Jens Weigel (1921-25). After his term ended, Mayor William Kapp (1926-30) served as acting mayor for six days before being elected to succeed him on January 2nd 1930[5][6]. Kapp would be re-elected three times consecutively (1935-39), making him one of only two mayors in history to serve four terms without interruption[7]. In 1941, during World War II,[8], stevedores working for Cuyahoga Valley Steel Works were caught up in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre bombings which killed more than seventy people.[9][10] Kapp's successor as mayor—Edwin Leeper—jobbed with local businessmen to rebuildSteubenVILLE after those bombings although he never visited the city again after leaving office (−3 years).[11][12] From 1945 through 1948,[13], Cleveland native Harold Ickes served as Mayor followed by James Gannon who held that position until his death on October 7th 1967 (−2 years). Healey Menard took office on October 8th 1967 and served until her recall election victory on November 5th 1978 which resulted in her becoming women's rights activist laureate that year −1 year before she died at age 83 years old.[14][15][16] Following Shealey Menard's departure from office on February 14th 1984,[17], Gaylord Nelson became Mayor beginning a streak of consecutive male mayors which continued until current day with Frank Jackson taking office on January 15th 2011 (+169 days)[18][19]). One significant event during Nelson's tenure occurred when then Minor League Baseball player Jeffrey Loria committed suicide while serving time for raping an unconscious woman behind home plate at Progressive Field; Loria had previously been arrested for domestic violence against his wife−Jenny Armes−after breaking her arm [20]; City Councilman David Sadowski unsuccessfully ran for Mayor against JacksonLee+Loria+Armes+Sadowski campaign poster photo Available upon request

Steubenville is a small town in Greene County, Ohio, about 20 miles north of Cleveland. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. The community is named after General George Steuben and his family who settled there in 1809. Steubenville was founded by Abram Steuben and other Revolutionary War veterans in 1809 as a small log settlement on the edge of a swamp near present-day Northlake. The first settler, Abram Steuben (1768-1841), built a cabin from logs he scavenged from the local bog. By 1840, the village had grown to include a store, schoolhouse, and several homes. The area that now makes up Steubenville was part of Shawnee Township until it was consolidated with Greene County in 1853. During its early years, Steubenville was known for its heavy reliance on agriculture – crops such as corn, oats, potatoes and tobacco were all important contributors to its economy. However, by the late 19th century many businesses had closed due to technological advances and dwindling resources; accordingly, the town began to lose some of its mainstay residents over time. Nevertheless, it continued to grow through annexation by neighboring towns until 1937 when it became an independent municipality under the name "Steubenville." The town's heyday coincided with World War II: during that decade it saw an influx of soldiers brought home via Operation Varsity – Steubenville's largest military deployment since World War I. Many of these troops stayed on campus at Western Reserve University (now Cleveland State University) before returning home; many also married into locally based families and continue to reside in Steubenville today. 0
