Today, most handgun chokes are manufactured using metals or plastics that can be easily replaced if necessary without taking apart the firearm; however, some older devices still retain their functionality should they become loose or damaged over time. Additionally, many manufacturers now offer aftermarket choke adapters that allow for installation of any type of muzzle brake (real estate restricted on earlier models).

Springfield, Ohio was founded in 1788 by General James H. Wilson as a trading post on the Great Miami River. The town served as a military and supply depot for the American Revolution until it was destroyed in 1812 by British forces during the War of 1812.
