Springdale is a town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Springdale is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati–The Steubenville–Muncie Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Springdale were Andrew and Hanna Cramer who arrived in 1792. They built a log cabin on the current site of Town Hall. In 1814, James Kapp and his family moved to Springdale from Muskingum County and started a farm that continues to be run by the Kapp family today. In 1827, George Stephenson founded the town of Dayton on land he bought from Andrew Cramer. The first post office was established in this town on February 14, 1830. The name of the town derived from spring near where it was located-the formal meaning of "spring" being fountains or water sources brought out for draining during summertime in those days). In 1865, David Silliman established a foundry and blast furnace near present day State Road 694 which became one of the largest employers in Springdale with over 100 employees at its peak when it opened. The foundry continued operation until 1971 when it closed due to lack of demand forauto parts after production moved to other plants around Dayton beginning in 1951. For many years after its closure until 2002, Blast Furnace Museum operated as a tourist attraction adjacent to State Road 694 just outside of town limits while local residents decorated their homes with relics from blast furnace operations during "Blast Days." After state funding was allocated for an exhibit about Dayton's role as manufacturing center for northeastern Ohio during 2007-2008 season Bombardment Historyicenters Museums (BHM) took over ownership of Blast Furnace Museum property including all buildings within three blocks surrounding McKale Center square across Main Street from museum entrance along with associated lot adjacent to University Avenue) providing permanent home for BHM since 2006; however museum building will not be restored nor used as public facility again until new $100 million facility is built & funded There are two primary types of industries operating withinSpringdale: traditional manufacturing businesses that have been here forever like David Silliman’s Blast Furnace Museum and small companies that recently moved into town but are still growing such as Preppy Farms BBQ restaurant next door which opened last year and plans to expand into multiple locations throughout central Ohio One primary reason why Springdale has become so vibrant over recent years is because there are now several high tech startups headquartered here including Workday Inc., AppceleratorOhio LLC., Greenlight Ventures LLC., DataXchange Corporation et al developing innovative products or services that impact society or consumers anywhere nearby Aspen Health gives patients access to top quality care close by without leaving their doorstep Springdale also boasts some very interesting historical attractions such as Old White House where President Abraham Lincoln spent one night before departing for Washington D.C.; Mount Vernon where George Washington spent nine days living among his most important cabinet members; Crawford Mansion which served as President John Adams' home during his time as American Ambassador to France; Masonic Temple #5where Richard Nixon met Mao Zedong; Union Terminal located just east off I-71 exit 10 minutes north westof downtown Dayton opposite Gahanna University

Springdale is a town in Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. The Township of Springdale was formed in 1837 from parts of the townships of Welsh and Delaware. The first post office was opened in 1865. In 1892, the town became part of the Cleveland-Akron metropolitan area. The spring that gave Springdale its name (and named one of its two ZIP Codes) probably originated about 6 miles (10 kilometers) northeast of town on State Route 71. A well known for their production of watermelons started out as a small cabin by three men--Jonathan Edwards Sr., John Edward Snowden and Reuben Sprague--near what is now the corner store on Elm Street near Beaver Creek Road. From that beginning until present day, the spring has been an important factor in Springdale's development and identity. In 1837, when township commissioners meeting to create new township boundaries decided to divide Welsh Township into two halves based on natural resources such as coal and timber values rather than population size or land value considerations, they appointed surveyors to draw up Lots 11 and 12 in what would become Springdale Township under orders from then-Commissioner Samuel Halsey III himself! This act foreshadowed much later when lots were parcelized off into homesite parcels for development due to increasing prices for farmland during this time period... According to local legend, Colonel George Washington Hancock donated $100 worth of free hardwood lumber to start a sawmill which would soon produce wood for building homes throughout central Ohio! The mill continued operation until 1915 when it burned down; however locals still date back to those early days when there were no paved roads or stores close by so buying groceries had to be done locally! In 1886 while most residents were still living within their individual farmsteads clustered around springs like Welsh and Delaware Springs where hunting/fishing could be enjoyed multiple times per week without fear of being away too long during peak season, 1st Ward Councilman Charles Waddell proposed creating a new city limits adjacent westward along State Route 71 with all current Townships within 3 miles (5 kilometers) radius including Springdale annexed forming “Cleveland Heights” then known as “Springdale” because only one road led from it directly into town center surrounded by fields & woods... At first this idea met with resistance but ultimately consent was given due mostly because Commissioner Halsey believed that annexation would result in more property taxes collected & more jobs available especially since many residents didn’t have any other place they could call home so becoming affiliated with another city would feel right at home! After years of hearings & debate between community leaders including myself along with City Commission members we finally approved the annexation on November 15th 1913 making us official part of Cleveland Heights!
The town of Springdale, Ohio was founded in 1837 by John A. Sprague. The town grew rapidly and soon became a center for local commerce and industry. In the early 1840s, the town sponsored a annual agricultural fair that attracted attention from around the country. The fair continued until 1851 when it was replaced by a more commercial event. In 1853, the townsite of Springdale was purchased by J.P. Morgan and others as part of an effort to create a new financial center in central Ohio. The city of Cleveland quickly grew aroundSpringdale, although some residents retained their affiliation with Springdale. By 1890, Springdale had grown sufficiently large that it decided to secede from Cleveland and establish its own government distinct from that of Cleveland. That same year, the first post office was established in Springdale and began serving residents of both towns simultaneously. In 1896, after years of struggle, Springdale achieved city status under then- Mayor Charles Fenton Payne Jr.. By 1912, however, Payne resigned due to health concerns and City Council members selected James Matson as his replacement; Matson would serve until he died in 1934. During Matson's tenure as mayor (1896-1912), many improvements were made to the downtown area including enlarging the Market Street Bridge over Willow Run Creek which connected both towns together; construction also began on what is now known as Main Street between East Whitehall Road and North Ave.; this project ended up costing $2 million dollars ($100 million today) and completed in 1914 . A major fire destroyed much of downtown in 1911 which led to increased investment into firefighting resources within the community; during Matson's time as mayor there were also several other important projects such as building an ice cream factory on University Circle near Youngstown State University which became one of America’s most successful businesses; this project cost $5 million dollars ($250 million today). Today springdale is home to several popular tourist attractions including Old Springs Hotel (built in 1830), Willard Park (named after President George Washington), Main Street Museum & Fountain (opened 1915), Stroudsburg Area Community College District #1 School District No 1 - located off Elmwood Avenue just east of High Street - Native American Reserve & Casino located west side off Elmwood Avenue - Artesian Wellspring located just southwest corner off Elmwood Ave
