springboro is a town in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,874 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Medina County. The first humans to live in Springboro were the Shawnee Indians who lived there from 1795 to 1800. They trade goods with the Europeans and built their village on the east side of town about 1800. William Clark passed through Springboro on his journey from Cincinnati to Stroudsburg in 1804 and saw the village for the first time. He called it "Springboro." In 1814, General David Wilkinson fought a battle at Greenbrier Creek against General Anthony Wayne and was victorious. This made Springboro an important military post because it had access to water supplies needed by both armies. In 1835, John Fenton built a gristmill on White Oak Creek which became one of the most important mills in central Ohio because of its output of flour and feed for animals. In 1854, George Washington Carver settled near Springboro after migrating from Kentucky via Delaware River Valley. In 1865, when America's Civil War began, springboro joined forces with other towns in Medina County in support of Union troops under General Ulysses S Grant. On April 12th 1865, Union troops arrived at Springboro and burned all but 4 buildings in town as part of Operation Crossroads; this was part of an effort to flush out Confederate forces south of Columbus Ohio On October 15th 1865 a group led by Captain James Wirtz stormed into town burning everything they could find before leaving for defensive positions along Lebanon Road just north of town center later that day

Springboro is a town in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,724 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Springboro was John Stephenson and his family who arrived in 1796. In 1813, John Stephenson married Sarah Price and they had six children: three sons, one daughter and two daughters-in-law. They named their home "Jeanette" after Sarah's sister Jeanie. In 1814, Nathaniel Brown erected a log cabin on the east side of the river where he now lives. He started farming and clearing land for crops that he would later sell to other farmers in the area. In 1830, Nathanial Brown Jr., his father-in-law bought 640 acres (2 km²) of land from David Humphreys for $100 cash plus ten shares of stock in Humphreys' new farm enterprise called the Miami Company which operated as a gentlemen's farmer company leasing out acreage to farmers for tobacco growing purposes. The Browns also built a gristmill on this site which still stands today as part of HWY 40 between Dayton and Springfield. The first post office was established at Springboro on December 12, 1830 by Jno Atherton with Wm Weaver as clerk; it closed on October 25th 1840 because of low mail volume due to Indian wars happening nearby during that time period. At some point around 1836 or so James Baird founded an academy here which became known as Baird Academy School District No 7 until it merged into Township High School District No 3 in 1984 following school closings throughout central Ohio caused by budget cutsbacks during that time period known as "the Great Recession". After World War II many residents left Springboro for good due to various manufacturing businesses moving away or disappearing after becoming unprofitable during wartime times when demand for goods Decreased sharply especially with respect to automobiles thanks to advances available since then technologies such as assembly lines etc.). Still others decided they wanted independence from Hamilton Township but didn't want their child attending school within its borders so they formed their own township called Springboro Township Independent School District #1 . There have been several name changes over time including Anderson's Milltown Schools Inc., Fallbrook Heights Schools (later Willowbrook Schools), Greenlawn Mills Elementary SchoolDistrict 2 & 3 before finally settling upon current name - Springboro Township Independent School District #1
Springboro was founded in 1795 by a group of Presbyterian missionaries. The town grew quickly, and by 1827 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1846, Springboro became the county seat of Hardin County. In 1951, the county was renamed Mahoning County. In 1984, Mahoning County merged with Ross County to form Summit County.
