Sharonville is a small town in theuy of Sharon, Ohio. It was founded in 1871 by German immigrants. The first settlers were farmers who grew corn, potatoes and other crops. By the early 1920s, the town had a population of about 100 people. In 1924, the United States Army purchased land near Sharonville for use as an artillery range. The range served as a training ground for American troops until 1948. In that year, US President Harry S Truman decided to close the range after studies showed that it was causing too many injuries and fatalities among military personnel. The closure of the artillery range left several thousand acres of forested land vacant. This land became known as "The Woods". After years of discussion, in 1985 Congress passed legislation giving The Woods to Sharonville for use as a public park. Today, The Woods is home to more than 1,000 acres of green space and 10 miles of hiking trails. While not all aspects of life in Sharonville are related to shooting sports (such as music or movie theaters), the history and culture around these activities make it one of America's most popular tourist destinations for shooters and hunters alike!

Sharonville is a town in the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio, located within Union County. The population was 9,874 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General Sharon, an American Revolutionary War general who Battle of Yorktown captured and led the American forces to victory over British troops. The first settler in Sharonville was John Richards who built a cabin on the bank of the Scioto River in 1789. In 1801, Samuel Gregg built a gristmill on Willow Road and started farming his land which henamed "Sharonesville". In 1814, James Weldon bought Lots 1-5 & 6-9 from Thomas Gregg for $225 each and began to build what would become known as Weldon's Mill. On November 15, 1821, weldon opened his mill with twelve hands and produced flour for local markets until 1840 when it became State Street Lime Works where it still operates today. A new water wheel was installed in 1903 which powered the lime works until 1958 when it became part of Union High School's electrical system. In 1907, JF White took over management of Weldon's Mill from Mr White and continued to operate it until 1916 when he sold it to S C Franks who operated it until 1930 when it became part of Wm Fritsch's family farm business which operated until 1951 when ownership passed to Nell Beattie who ran it as a commercial enterprise until 1978 when she donated it to Union City Commercial Schools District #2 where it currently resides. During World War II many members of the United States military were stationed here including Lt Colonel Edwin Kiles (USMC) commandant during 1945-46 while stationed at Fort Hood; Major General Clifford Hudgins (USMC) commanding 3rd Marine Division during 1943-45; Captains John Ladd (USNavy), William E Lederer (Navy) and George Haggerty (Navy) aboard USS Lexington during 1944-45; First Lieutenant Lew Browning USMC Commanding 5th Marines during 1943-45; Captain Morris Moller USNR commanding USS Ponce during 1942-'43; Second Lieutenant Lionel Berman USNR commanding USS Dolphin during 1941-'43 After World War II Sharonville experienced rapid growth with numerous businesses opening up including Harry Denny Chevrolet Sales Inc., J F White Printing and Binding Co., Mrs Eleanor Kappelmeyer Confectionery Co., Thalia’s Record Shop, Lamar’s Restaurant/Barbecue place etcetera Buttermilk Hill Drive remained mostly rural with few homes or businesses being developed beyond agriculture however this has all changed since 2000 with new development such asUnion City Park just east of town near Interstate 71

Sharonville is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,842 at the 2010 census. The name of the town may come from the Shawnee word "Sheridan" meaning "place of many trees." Sharonville was founded by farmers in 1837 and became a village in 1869. It was incorporated as a city in 1907. The history of Sharonville begins with its location on the Scioto River upstream from modern-day Toledo. The site of what is now Sharonville was part of the Miami Purchase, which included parts of present-day Ohio and Indiana. The region around today's Sharonville had been inhabited by the Shawnee since before European settlement began there in the 17th century. One account has it that Chief Tecumseh led an attack against General George Washington's forces at Battle Creek on July 9, 1794; however this story is not supported by contemporary evidence. In 1837, three men – David Stroud, James Ahearn and Ebenezer Cook – started farming near what is now downtown Sharonville and named their new community after Mount Vernon Manor in London where they were living at that time: Mount Vernon Township (now Delaware Township). In 1869, when City Hall and other buildings were completed for Village Green Village, residents voted to incorporation as a city under then- Mayor John Grieve. That same year saw one of the first realizations that town would have many needs beyond just agriculture: Streets were laid out including Main Street East which runs through downtown today; Banks Street ran east-west across center town while Third Street ran north-south; Methodist Episcopal Church built near South Main Street served as both an ambulatory clinic and meeting place for local officials during epidemics like smallpox or yellow fever; also construction began on what would become North High School (later renamed North Campus), which opened in 1870.. During most of those years until 1907 when city limits expanded to include present day Ottawa County proper (and much older areas such as Youngstown), citizens lived off farmsteads within their own municipality boundaries while their government functioned primarily out of City Hall annexe
