Sharonville was platted in 1814 by Joshua Shaw and his wife Catherine Hill. When the first post office opened in Sharonville, it was known as "The Shawnee." In 1865, Sharonville became a station on the Underground Railroad when Senator David Wilmot visited there to demand payment for people being transported back to slavery in Kentucky. After Welles' aborted invasion, Sharonville lost its status as a military post and reverted back to its original spelling of "Sharonville." On November 3rd 1905 Shoemaker’s Store burned down due to fire set by local residents who believed it had been started by Union troops stationed nearby< ref >The Toledo Blade (November 3 1905)< br /> The store reopened two days later with new ownership but closed again within a few months because of financial problems caused by prohibitionist policies enacted by Republican governor Clevelander Mudd.

In 1918–1919 some members of United States Congress took up residence in adjoining house #405 on High Street while their Capitol Annex project was under construction; this resulted in increased traffic along High Street which led to severalMotor Vehicle Accidents which resulted in $25 fines each time something went wrong with drivers trying to get around red lights or stop at crosswalks while parked illegally.

Sharonville is a small town in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,501 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Beaverton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Sharonville was George Beal in 1796. In 1834, James Aiken bought a tract of land here and named it after his father-in-law, Solomon Aiken. By 1840, there were four families living in Sharonville: the Ackens, Bidwells, Cooks and Howells. In 1843, John Hargrave settled here with his family and named the place for them – Hargrave Heights. In 1849 local resident William Dearing erected a log courthouse on high ground just east of town center. That year also saw the opening of the first post office in Sharonville – called "Old Hickory" because it stood on a hill near that name's original settlements (Hickory being an Indian word meaning "alder"). The post office was renamed "Sharonville" in 1865 by act of Congress following the death of Ulysses S. Grant at that location during the American Civil War (Grant had been preserver of Union forces at nearby Edinburgh). The townspeople petitioned to have their name removed from the post office building after discovering that two other towns within Dayton had received similar honors - but their request was not granted until 1870 when Congress amended postal law to recognize towns with more than one thousand residents as having proper USPS mailing addresses (i.e., those without downtownPost Offices). Although much smaller than most contemporaneous communities—just over one square mile at its peak—Sharonville began to achieve some level of notoriety due to its role as both a setting for early Western movies and as an important center for agricultural production during prohibition years; videos shot around this time include scenes filmed at Old Hickory Hill outside community limits while still under liquor control.
