In the early 1800s, Seven Hills was a small farming community in northeastern Ohio. The area now known as Seven Hills was first settled by German immigrants in the mid-18th century. By 1810, the community had grown to include a few hundred residents. One of Seven Hills' earliest businesses was a millinery shop and post office. At that time, it was one of the few communities in southeastern Ohio not located on the Allegheny River. The late 1800s were tough for many small towns in northeast Ohio due to various factors including increasing agricultural production and population growth. However,Seven Hills persevered and slowly grew into an important community during the 19th century. In 1892, Seven Hills became part of what is now known as Mahoning County. That year, local farmers startedraising pigs and cattle and began using hogs for their own livestock rather than shipping them across miles of open country to be raised by other farmers. In 1903, this led tothe formation ofthe Hog Farmer's Association which continuesto play an important rolein agrarian life today. One aspectof Seven Hills' history which has been greatly affected by its location on Route 24 is its relationship with Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). Seven Hills is an unincorporated community in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,799 at the 2010 census. It lies along the Scioto River east of commercial center Dayton. The community was named for seven hills on which it once sat. These hills were prominent because they had a high degree of fertility and productivity due to their location near a large meadow that could be used for agriculture and ranching. In 1868, Seven Hills became the first settlement in Columbiana County when John Witherspoon settled there. By 1870, people from other settlements had moved into Seven Hills as well. Many of these settlers were farmers who started out in what is now Columbiana County but soon transitioned to farming in Ohio because of the good soillocation and climate there. The town's name originated with its location; it was just one hill away from a large meadow that offered excellent growth potential for crops and pastureland.

Seven Hills is a small city in Steuben County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now comprising Seven Hills was originally part of Muskingum County. It was chartered as a town on November 1, 1825 and had a population of 283 when it merged with Athens to form the new city of Athens on January 1, 1827. On February 14, 1829 Seven Hills became the capital of Ohio and adopted an act creating the state's first government. In 1881 it became one of the original settlements in what would become Dayton and served as its first mayoralty from January 1, 1887 until October 5th, 1888 when John A. Daugherty took office after being elected by citizens at a special election held that day following the resignation of Mayor George Wenceslaus
