In the early 1800s, Seven Hills was a small village in central Ohio. It was located on the border of what is now Cincinnati and Dayton, and its residents were farmers who raised horses, cows, pigs, and chickens. The village had two stores and one post office. There were no guns or gun chokes in Seven Hills until about 1859 when a man by the name of John Daugherty bought a shotgun from an old farmer in neighboring Cedartown. From that point on, Seven Hills began to experience gun chokes – choke rods used to prevent firearms from firing because they stopped the rounds from passing through the barrel easily. A choke rod consisted of a metal tube with a hole drilled into it at one end so that the rounds could be passed through without problem but blockage resulted in missfires or jams. Gun chokes continued to be used sporadically throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s However their popularity waned as folks began using more modern methods for passing rounds such as revolvers with springs instead of metal tubes. In 1912, Seven Hills residents voted to ban handguns altogether after learning about an attack on an Akron store that resulted in three deaths due togasoline poisoning caused by faulty ammunition being fired from handguns. Gun chokes remained popular among certain groups within society however their use declined overall until around 1930 when they were finally banned outright in Ohio following another spate of fatalities caused by gunfire

Seven Hills is a small town in the northwestern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 8,075 as of the 2010 census. It lies in the Unity Township municipal district and is part of the Mahoning Valley region. The original settlers in what is now Seven Hills were mainly German immigrants who arrived during the 1800s. They built log homes and businesses until 1854, when they formed a village called "Seven Hills" to reflect their growing community's seven hills: a reference to their location on 7 miles (11 km) of high ground, bordering on Shiawassee Township to the north and east, Union Township to the south and west, and Mahoning County to the northwest. In 1875, Seven Hills became one of ten townships in Mahoning County; it was incorporated as a village on May 20, 1907. On July 1, 1912 Seven Hills merged with neighboring Union Township to form an enlarged municipality with a population of 12,000 people. In 1925 Five Mile Creek burst its banks creating flooding that destroyed many homes in both villages; however there were no fatalities or serious damage as a result because all residents had evacuated by then. The first post office at Seven Hills opened on October 3rd, 1903; it closed on July 15th 1913 due to low box collection rates from residents living near Reading Heights which soon replaced Seven Hills as the town's main commercial center after much development took place within two decades including an addition of two schools (one high school and one elementary), three churches (one Lutheran and two Methodist), six stores/markets/service stations - five downtown - two farmsteads - one dairy - four residences - one golf course (now abandoned) and much more! On November 9th 1922 Three Rivers Brewing Company organized a beer festival which attracted over 4500 people from throughout Mahoning Valley for an event which later became known as "The Great Three Rivers Beer Festival". Held annually since then it has become one of Northeast Ohio's most popular cultural events enjoyed by locals & visitors alike!

The original settlers were Quakers and the town has been called "The Hilltown of Steubenville" since its founding. The town was named after seven hills that lay near it: Huckleberry (now Hickory), Kingston, Liverpool, Montrose, Prospect Heights, and Washington Park. The first post office was established in 1814. In 1829 Seven Hills became part of the newly created Athens Township. The population of Seven Hills peaked at 2,060 in 1930 but declined to 1,500 by 1940. Since then it has continued to decline until it had a population of just 758 people as of 2010.
