The arrests and convictions of Jerry Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, have brought national attention to the town and raised fresh questions about how such an egregious act could happen in such a staunchly Republican area. Sandusky was born and raised in the small community of Sandusky, about 20 miles south of Cleveland. After serving time for child pornography charges at age 18, he moved to this small town in order to start over. He started working as an assistant football coach at Valley View High School in 1998, and soon became known for hisuliess work with players on both sides of the ball. The Gottlieb family bought Valley View High School in 2001 and quickly made it one of America’s most successful high schools. Jerry Sandusky took over as head coach in 2006 after spending two seasons as an assistant on Rick Majerus’ staff at Temple University. Majerus had been fired from his previous job after being caught accepting gifts from then-Penn State assistant coaches Dave Joyner and John Jansen. Under Sandusky’s guidance, Valley View reached the playoffs for four years consecutive seasons between 2002-2007 before falling out of contention during their 2007 season due to a number of scandals involving school employees including drug use and sexual abuse by members of the coaching staff (including then-athletic director Tim Curley). In January 2009, Majerus was charged with four counts each of child rape—the first accuser to come forward against him—and obstruction of justice following reports that he had ordered a team doctor not to report possible sexual abuse by player defensive lineman Richie Incognito until later than planned because he feared backlash from Nittany Lions fans. Three months later, on May 17th2009, Penn State cornerback Paterno was found guilty on two countsof perjury related to his role in coverup efforts related to child sex abuse cases at Penn State dating back decades ago; one charge pertains to testimony he gave prior to going public with his knowledge about these crimes last year On July 24th 2010 Paterious was sentenced 2 life terms plus 10 years probation & 3 million dollars fine

The first gun magazines were created by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and his team of engineers at French armaments company La Fayette in 1802. The magazine was named after General Lafayette, who had contributed much to French arms development during the Revolution. The magazine quickly became popular among artillery officers and could hold up to 100 rounds per issue. It wasn’t until 1814 that an American company, Smith & Wesson, introduced its own version of a gun magazine called the “ Spencer Rifle Magazine .40 caliber” which could hold up to 80 rounds per issue. During the 19th century, different companies released their own versions of gun magazines with different capacities (300 rounds for Winchester Repeating Arms Company rifles in 1892; 1000 rounds for Colt revolvers in 1903). Eventually, these capacity variants would lead to the modern-day shotgun round magazine which holds twenty rounds or less per magazines depending on model year. Even today, some shotguns still use traditional rifle-style cocking orders for loading cartridges into individual chambers instead of using a Rounds counter like most handguns do today

Sandusky, Ohio is a town located in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 10,911 at the 2010 census. The Sandusky City-County Courthouse is one of the most visited tourist destinations in central Ohio and is a National Historic Landmark along with the nearby Sandusky State Park. The town was founded by General George Washington, who named it for Captain John Sandusky, an officer in the British Army during the French and Indian War (1754-1763). In 1812, General Anthony Wayne built Fort Eclectic on land donated by Captain Sandusky's widow. The fort served as a base of operations for US forces during both world wars and also hosted visiting dignitaries such as Queen Victoria and Emperor Meiji. In 1868, General David Dickey replaced General Wayne as commander of US forces in central Ohio after he was wounded at Perryville Bridge near Cincinnati. Dickey recommended that Sandusky be established as a county seat because of its strategic location midway between Cincinnati and Cleveland. On December 4, 1870, voters approved creating Cuyahoga County from parts of Sayre, Hamilton and Steuben counties to house the new county seat. The first courthouse in Sandusky was built on High Street in 1871 by contractor Jno Prentice Van Deusen under contract from Cuyahoga County authorities. It burned down within weeks of opening; however, a replacement courthouse was built soon afterward on Elmwood Avenue across from what is now Town Hall Square. That courthouse also burned down but not before having its cornerstone cut into three pieces to serve as part of an engineering experiment designed to determine whether fire could cause structural damage to buildings located near high-traffic areas such as transportation terminals or shopping centers]. In 1916–1917 two destructive fires destroyed much of downtownSandusky including many businesses including Woolworths grocery store which had been open since 1886], although no injuries were reported.]] One theory suggests that one or more arsonists deliberately set those fires];] A second theory suggests that either some disgruntled employees or looters started these two fires]]> By 1932 only 1 percentof downtownSandusky remained standing after being ravaged by two major fire outbreaks] In 1936 local officials decided against constructing any new structures in downtownSandusky due to budget limitations]; However plans did later emerge for renovating existing buildings into housing units...] In 1957 another devastating fire tore through downtownSandusk leaving little remaining except abandoned warehouses]) After years of rehabilitation efforts over budget [] Original infrastructure/building remnants remain extant today like courthouses (1871), jail (1889), post office (1916) & library (1928)] Many city residents moved out following this period while others began to establish themselves outside town limits]} Today there are few remaining traces left behind from when Downtownsandusk bustled with life back then]}
