Richmond Heights, Ohio is a small town located in the northwestern part of the United States. It is the most populous township in Cuyahoga County and has a population of 9,898 as of 2010. The town is named after Richmond, Virginia. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Richmond Heights were farmers and planters who came from North Carolina. In 1814, they built a log cabin on the edge of what is now known as West Side Park. One year later, they erected a post office at their cabin and started to sell goods that they produced on their farm. By 1827, all of these activities had ceased because there was no postal service and mail got delivered only by horse and wagon. In 1829, John Haines purchased the land that makes up present-day Richmond Heights from his brother-in-law Daniel Boone for $5 per acre ($100 per mile). At this time, Richmond Heights consisted of just six families with an total population of about 50 people. After buying the land, Haines began to build roads and houses for himself and his tenants. He also founded a school which he taught until it closed in 1861 due to financial difficulties. During Haines' time as proprietor, there were several other changes happening in Richmond Heights too: The first was when Reverend James Pierpont organized Methodists into two groups called "Eunice Baptist Church" (now known as First Baptist Church) and "Stroud Methodist Episcopal Church". This group changed its name to "Richmond Presbyterian church" because it wanted people from all over Cincinnati area to come together for worship services instead of just those within its own denomination (Methodism). Second was when Thomas Ritchie bought some lots adjacent to John Haines' property for $10 each (later increased by $10 per acre). Ritchie built himself a house on one lot while others erected houses around him - eventually forming what is today known as Highland Avenue Area School District No 2 which included parts of downtown Cincinnati itself! In 1830s also came new waves OF immigrants coming overland through Pennsylvania: Germans along with Irishmen/women arrived beginning in 1830 while Poles arrived starting in 1840; both groups brought their skills with them so that many businesses became successful such as breweries and distilleries etcetera! In 1859 Richard Nixon moved into what would become home #711 on Vine Street – then considered something quite special since it had been vacant for more than 25 years!
