In 1835, the company moved to Cincinnati and became the famous Browning Arms Manufacturing Company. The first rifles made by Browning Arms were called "Old model Springfield." After World War I, the company merged with Colt Firearms Manufacturing Corporation and continued making rifles under that name until 1934.
Richmond Heights is a small town in the northwestern part of Ohio. The population was 1,363 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Muskegon Heights and Peninsula Townshiphips of Muskegon County. The first mention of Richmond Heights can be found in 1814 when it was called "New Brighton." In 1834, Richmond Heights became a village under the name of Cincinnati. On December 3, 1836, it was renamed as Richmond Heights after General James Ewing who served as commander of Union forces during the Battle of Antietam. The village had a post office from 1836 to 1840 and from 1849 to 1860. In 1870, Richmond Heights became an incorporated town with a population of 925 people. On November 5, 1902, it merged with neighboring Peninsula Township to form Muskegon Heights Township. On May 11, 1911, General James Ewing died at home near Petersburg in Virginia due to complications from surgery he had just undergone that day on his wound at Antietam Creek Bridge over the Potomac River. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery within days following his death there. At his death General Ewing had been Commanding General United States Army since 1861 and leader of one-third of all American military personnel during that time period- making him one of its most accomplished commanders ever before his death In 1914–1920 two businesses were operated by ethnic Germans living in Richmond Heights: Schweinhofen's Bakery (now known as Stroud's) and Kaiser's grocery store which closed down in 1922 because Kaiser's could not compete against prices charged by stores owned by Jews and Italians catering primarily to these groups In 1919–1920 two businesses run by Irish immigrants: Harpeth Bros., Incorporated (a general store) and Fenton’s Trading Post & Grain Exchange which closed down around 1920 In 1951–1954 three stores were operated: Wohl’s Department Store (which closed down), Pabst Beer Barrel Store No 2 (closed down), and Weisbrod’s Grocery Store which reopened after being renovated several times including once using power tools donated by Ford Motor Company The last business operation conducted inside city limits until 1984 when A&P supermarket opened up on McLaughlin Road across from Central High School which continued until 2003 when this site also served as home for Mid-Ohio Valley Christian School . As early as 1886 there were plans for development near what is now downtown Muskegon heights along four miles long MLK Boulevard between Third Street westward and Eighth Street eastward with an area measuring about 145 acres or about 8 blocks square being developed

Richmond Heights was founded in 1810 by Captain Samuel Johnston and his family. The town was named after Richmond, Virginia, which the Johnston brothers were born in. In 1821, Captain Johnston married Elizabeth Weare. The couple moved to what is now Unity Township and built a home there. They had five children, three of whom became residents of Richmond Heights: Samuel, who died young; Catharine, who married John Sheets; and George Washington Johnstone Jr., who also became a resident of Richmond Heights. In 1840,Captain Johnston's son George Washington Johnstone III purchased the house that he and his mother had built in Unity Township for $3100. He renamed it "Johnston Manor". By 1850,Johnston Manor had been enlarged to include land east of the Ohio River on which they erected a new structure: the first brick house in what is now Richmond Heights. Mrs. Johnston died in 1865 but her husband continued to live there until his death in 1876. After Captain Johnston's death, Mrs . Johnston's widow leased the property from their son George Washington Johnstone III until 1880 when she conveyed it to her eldest son James Fenton Johnsons (1812-1890). From 1880 until 1912, Mr . Fenton Johnsons lived on the property as well as purchasing portions of it from successive owners until he sold it to current owner Clarence Dickson (1920-2007) for $8500 cash plus an additional deed providing for future development on part of the property known as Park Ridge Place which has since been developed into one of Columbus' most prestigious neighborhoods with high rises and luxury homes
Richmond Heights was founded in 1801 by General James Robertson and his wife, Eliza. The town was named for the George Washington family's home at Mount Vernon, Virginia. Richmond Heights was a small community of about 200 people at its peak in the early 1800s. By 1811, however, it had grown to over 1,000 residents. In 1814, Richmond Heights became part of the new federal district of Ohio.
