Richmond Heights is a city in and the county seat of Brown County, Ohio, United States. The population was 20,711 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Scioto River in central Ohio. Richmond Heights was founded by General James Winchester in 1810 as a small farming community named Westfield. In 1815, Winchester donated land to create what would become Richmond Heights. The city's first school opened in 1816 and its first mayor was George Washington Carver. From 1840 to 1850, Richmond Heights had one of the highest birth rates in Ohio because families from nearby Bedford interested themselves there for their children's education and opportunities for economic advancement. In 1830, General William Tecumseh Sherman visited Richmond Heights and praised its architecture, saying "the townspeople are very finelooking people." Sherman also remarked that "the climate here is so healthy that I should be perfectly satisfied if I lived anywhere but within shouting distance of an open field or woods". By 1870, however, many of the farms within sight of downtown were sold off to make way for housing developments such as Regency Tower (now part of the University of Cincinnati) and Grant Park (now part of Case Western Reserve University). As this happened around the same time that railroad construction began throughout central Ohio%, many residents relocated away from downtown towards these new development sites because they could see industrialization as a positive thing. By 1900 only 2% of residents still lived within walking distance of their jobs while 98% resided within driving distance or less than 1 mile away due to travel times associated with mass transportation at that time. During World War II most residents left their homes behind to serve in various military branches including infantry battalions stationed along the eastern seaboard; artillery commanders operating out west; tank crews manning main battle tanks near Cleveland; engineers working on projects all over centralOhio; naval personnel assigned aboard battleships moored outside Toledo; etc... One resident did stay in their home during wartime: Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt who conducted telephone conversations from her home using her servants' quarters which had been converted into living quarters after her husband became President... In 1945 most everyone returned back indoors when hostilities ceased except few officers serving aboard submarines which remained operational until 1947 when they decommissioned.... Today not a single person remains unaccounted for during wartime even though it took place more than fifty years ago! The shift towards suburban living continued unabated through much OFW interventionism forbidding Housing Authority demolition across inner-city areas creating large tracts o housing developments specifically designed around White flight patterns surrounding Greater Pittsburghs universities/industrial cores while non Black Americans continued to migrate into inner-cities seeking better opportunity side by side with Black Americans newly enfranchised through legislation passed via civil rights movements despite significant ghettoification effects throughout much Inner-CITY Cleveland area especially following urban renewal programs.........Today some 70%+of black citizens residing eastside within wards boundaries live below poverty line with 50%+ dwellers inside 25 miles radius o outer suburbs....... 100% Caucasian majority reside within 5 miles Radius regardless o inner & outer city neighborhoods nowmajorityminority

Richmond Heights was founded in 1800 by Captain James Cook and his family. The community is located in the southeastern part of Ohio, on the border of Virginia and Kentucky. In 1806, Richmond Heights became a town when it was annexed by Dayton. In 1824, the town was renamed Richmond after General Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House. The population of Richmond Heights increased to 1,500 in 1830 from 350 residents in 1806. By 1860, the population had grown to 5,000 and it remained high until the American Civil War caused a decrease in its population to 1,000 residents in 1865. After the war ended, Richmond Heights experienced a period of decline as many families moved away because of poverty and lack of opportunities. From its peak during the post-war era until around 1970s when it began to experience a renaissance due to new development along I-670 and other transportation links within the community, Richmond Heights experienced periods of growth and decline throughout its history.
Richmond Heights was a small community located in the Richmond Heights neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. It was founded by landowner George Washington Carleton in 1801 and named for the English county of Richmond. The community had a population of about 150 people at its peak in the early 1800s. In 1825, it became part of Cleveland and was renamed Richmond Heights. The community declined after World War II, but has since regained some popularity as a luxury housing enclave.
