Airguns have a long and varied history in Richmond Heights, Ohio. In 1892, the first airgun was created by George Washington Diggs. The gun was called the “Diggie Gun” and it used a small-capacity magazine to shoot darts out of a barrel. It was very popular among farmers and hunters in the early days of aviation. In 1927, Richmond Heights residents Henry Hargrave and his wife Esther started shooting pistols at their home. They soon realized that they liked using airguns for target practice because they were so inaccurate compared to handguns.ectionally known as “The Hargrave Airguns Club,” they began selling airguns to the public. In 1932, they opened an airgun factory in their home which produced over 100 different types of airguns including models like the Ruger Mark II and Winchester Model 1886. Today, Richmond Heights is home to one of the largestairgun dealerships in Ohio with over 50 different types of airguns on sale! The club continues to be responsible for providing quality targets for local shooters through its annual meetings and tournaments.

In 1892, Richmond Heights was known as a small village in the extreme northeastern corner of Ohio. It consisted of just over one thousand residents and had no post office. The first airguns were invented in 1892 by George Stephenson and C.J. Sprague, two friends who lived in nearby Newark, Ohio. The Stephenson-Sprague guns used a tube filled with compressed air to shoot traps at targets placed on an elevated surface. These early models were very inaccurate, but they inspired others to try this new technology. In 1896, an American company named Browning began making airguns that used a gas charge to shoot pellets instead of water droplets or Air balls like earlier guns. This gave the guns a much more accurate kill ratio and made them much more portable than earlier designs. By 1907, there were over fifty different types of airguns being manufactured in America alone!
Richmond Heights is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio, and the seat of Richmond County. The population was 50,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The city was founded in 1824 by General James Wilkinson as an agricultural community on high ground east of present-day Columbus, near the then-new village of Franklin Township. The name "Richmond Heights" came from its location on high ground above Muskingum River valley, whence it derived its name “The Heights” because it commanded a commanding view of that valley and surrounding country. In 1851, construction began on what became known as Wilkinson's Mills, one of the largest cotton plantations in America at that time. This enterprise produced more than $2 million in value crops for export during its lifetime;[1] later it became known as The Cotton Kingdom due to its importance in this industry.[2] In 1865, land developers John Denton and Myron Cuyler bought Wilkinson's Mills and moved their families to Richmond Heights; they renamed it after themselves (Denton) and erected a new series of mills called The Factory Park Company Mill Complex (Cuyler). However, due to economic difficulties caused by increased competition from other United States textile firms over the next several decades,[3]Richmond Heights declined rapidly until it reached its current condition within 10 years following establishment of local government in 1959 with incorporation as a city.[4][5][6] The city experienced rapid growth beginning in the early 1970s when truckloads of workers poured into town for work at General Motors' assembly plants located there;[7][8] manufacturing exited Richmond Heights altogether during this period but has since returned with mixed success thanks to redevelopment efforts led by Mayor Greg Hughes.[9][10][11] Today, many residents commute into Columbus or Cleveland while others commute out to search for quality jobs opportunities elsewhere within Greater Cincinnati/Ohio region. Many businesses have been built or are being developed around downtown streetscapes which make for lively public squares where people can come together to enjoy special events such as music festivals or major league baseball games taking place throughout summer months

In 1912, an American engineer named George Washington White developed what is now considered the first successful airgun design- the shotgun style airgun. This gun uses a paper cartridge which is inserted into a tube that runs down the barrel and delivers power to the firing pin via an explosive discharge. By 1914, over 200 different types of shotguns had been designed using this technology, including rifles and pistols. During World War I, many countries needed to arm themselves with artillery pieces that could fire large numbers of rounds per minute (rpm). To produce these guns, engineers developed new technologies such as beltfed cannonball launchers which allowed cannons to fire multiple rounds per minute without having to reload frequently. Airguns also became essential during World War I due to their ability to provide short bursts of fire at high speeds which enabled troops on the battlefield to take out enemy positions quickly

Richmond Heights is a census-designated place in Columbiana County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Cincinnati–Middletown, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Richmond Heights community began as a small farming and ranching town in 1853 on the east side of Cincinnati. It grew rapidly during the late 19th century as large manufacturing companies moved to Cincinnati from Northern America and Eastern Europe. Many of these new employers built factories in what is now Richmond Heights, including American Can Company (now Mead Johnson), Standard Oil Company (now ExxonMobil), Armour Corporation (later Arco), and General Electric Company (later GE). In 1926, when Randolph Air Force Base opened in neighboring Fairmont Township, many nearby businesses decided to move to that proposedbase area for military use. By 1930 there were over 100 businesses in Richmond Heights. During World War II many jobs were created by Hamilton Aircraft Corporation’s production of B-29 bombers for the U.SAAF; this led to a rapid growth in housing stock and infrastructure around the base – areas such as North Parkway Boulevard now contain several high-end retailers and restaurants that date back to those early days of war production. Of course with war came also rationing which caused some closures but overall Richmond Heights experienced significant growth during both world wars despite difficult times economically speaking. In recent years much focus has been placed on downtown Cincinnati because it has seen an increase in economic development due to its location within walking distance of major city attractions like Mount Adams Park, The Great American Beer Festival®, Woodward Museum®, etcetera while still remaining affordable enough for everyday life without sacrificing quality or services offered by local businesses. After years of discussion between different groups within the community about developing revitalization plans for downtown Richmond Heights political leaders agreed that a strategy should be put into place starting with targeted property acquisitionNO ONE HAS BEEN PURCHASED IN OVER A DECADE
Richmond Heights was first settled in 1794. The original settlers were the Richmond family. In 1813, the United States bought the land from the British for $10,000. In 1815, General Tom Thumb founded Ohio University here. The townspeople built a sawmill and gristmill on the river and started to grow crops. In 1830, they voted to become a city.
