Reynoldsburg is a city in and the county seat of Reynoldsburg County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. In 1829, two settlers named Levi Burnett and his wife Nancy moved from North Carolina to what is now Reynoldsburg when their land was purchased by General James Wilkinson for $4,000. The first settler in what is now Reynoldsburg Township (referred to as "Old Reynoldsburgh") was John Bates. He lived on a farm that he founded in 1792. Other early pioneers in what became Reynoldsburg Township included David Cranch, Isaac Whitney, and Ebenezer Morse. In 1837, Ohio Governor Elijah Hicks offered 350 acres (16 km2) of land to any person who could provide a log cabin within ten years or achieve other economic stability and progress. Three men responded: Daniel Boone Ford Sr., William White Miller, and John Richards Clark Sr.. They started building homes on their land beginning in 1840 but only completed one house before giving it away due to lack of resources. In 1847 they built the first frame home in what became Reynoldsburg Township which still stands today as a museum piece. The town's name comes from George Washington Lewis’ letter patent naming it after him because he had been interested in purchasing land there since his days with George Rogers Clark’s expedition into Indian Territory during the War for Independence (1775-1783). On July 12th, 1800 Lewis received word from General Wayne that he had discovered an extensive tract of land east of Cincinnati called “Ohio Falls” lots No.: 7 & 8 were reserved for purchase by Lewisohn & Company under license #1444/8 dated May 6th 1800 conditioned upon payment of $1800 plus interest at 10% per annum until paid off; this property lay just outside present day township boundaries situated southwest corner milepost 463 north latitude 40 degrees west longitude on right bank Wabash River opposite modern day Clintonville The rest of present day township boundaries were laid out by commissioners appointed by President James Knoppers on August 29th 1830 including lot Nos.: 1 through 5 east side Clintonville between milepost 465 northerly and 466 westerly while lot Nos.: 6 & 7 ran along edge of river shoreline near where current day Clintonville rests . These Commissioners laid out 3 square miles (.8 km2) each with streets running east-west and dirt roads running north-south

Reynoldsburg is a town in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit what is now Reynoldsburg was Giovanni da Vercelli on July 14, 1514. He named it Villa della Regina (Queen's Villa), after his patron saint, Queen Maria Dei GRACEVENTI. In 1802, John Reynolds founded the village of Reynoldsburg on land he had purchased from the Settlers' Company. In 1811, he erected a frame courthouse and jail in honor of his friend and mentor-John Emerson Cooke. In 1819, he donated land for a schoolhouse and church which were dedicated in 1825 under the name First Presbyterian Church of Reynoldsburg. The present brick building was completed in 1912 and replaced an earlier wooden structure that had been destroyed by fire in 1908. It is one of two remaining original buildings from when Reynoldsburg was established as a Villagehood in 1802. In 1865/1866 George WOODruff built what is today known as WOODruff House on lot #2123 within the limits of current-day Reynoldsburg Township but still within Summit County; this house became one of the first homes built in what would become Akron after its incorporation as an incorporated city on April 24, 1907 by James Kappler and others with assistance from Mayor Julius Rosenwald's Commission on Municipal Improvements (CMI). resident tuition for Woodruff House residents started at $5 per semester during those early years although there wasn't much educational offer available to students due to lack of facilities then or now! Unfortunately many residents burned up their tuition money trying to buy subscriptions to "The Journal," which was published at WOODruff House until it moved again to University Hall located across Riverside Drive east of Main Street prior to its closure effective February 1st 1930 due largely to heavy student enrollment concentrated around this time right near where I am standing today! So yes another chapter ends here folks...............RIP Woodruff House.............
