Reynolds in 1922 as a result of his merger with several other companies in that industry. At its peak, OIC produced more than 2,000 products including spectacles, monoculars, Binoculars/Waterproof Monitors (B&W/P), binocular lenses (including Astigmatism-corrected lenses), photographic slides and film cameras. In addition to its production capabilities within the optics industry, OIC also played a significant role in developing new technology for eyeglasses and contact lenses during the 20th century. For example, it developed bothsunglassesandcontactlensystemsandearwearsduringthe1920s. Additionally, OIC played a leading role in helping to popularize water resistance among eyeglasses during that era; this was particularly important becauseEyeglassesbecame increasingly popular among people who worked outdoors or who traveled frequently outside climates where rain or snow were common fixtures.. Reynoldsburg is a town in Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,715 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1801, John Reynolds donated land to be included in what would become Dayton. In 1827, he and his son James bought the township from Moses Brown for $812 per mile². James Reynolds served as Mayor of Dayton from 1830-1832 and 1836-1838. The community was named after John Reynolds' father-in-law Lucius Niles who lived there until his death on July 20, 1799. On May 5, 1800 John Reynolds married Mary Niles and they moved into their first house on the west side of town which still stands today (now occupied by the First United Methodist Church). In 1814 local farmers found coal seams near present day Reynoldsburg but didn't mine them because of lack of equipment then available or fear of fireballs created by underground coal mines nearby that were used by other industries such as textiles mills and breweries at that time. They did not realize until later when anthracite coal became plentiful due to railroads coming through that transportation had an impact on prices and production levels for various products all across America including Dayton where prices were controlled by transportation companies which made it difficult for small businesses to compete against large ones although this changed with the development of interstate highways throughout America which impacted small towns like Dayton indirectly much like Akron did years later when its industrial base decayed relative to Cleveland's automotive industry despite being located larger geographically speaking within Greater Cincinnati.) In 1840 local farmer Amos Morse discovered gas hydrates under a layer of shale around present day Scranton/Reynoldsburg Township while prospecting for oil fields in what would become Pennsylvania; he also named one well "Morse Heights" in honor of Amos Morse’s father who had been a surveyor for George Washington during the American Revolution and was among those who discovered Westphalia Coal Mine near Wheeling (now Waco) back then but no information exists about whether or not he actually mined gas hydrates hereabouts since records show nothing ever came from this well beyond producing water used for irrigation purposes only! On January 8th, 1844 William Hennepin arrived at Allentown Station on board USS Constitution during her maiden voyage transporting General David Hunter from Philadelphia aboard and bringing news that General Harrison's forces had crossed over into Canada two days earlier resulting in great rejoicing among both Americans & Canadians alike causing Wildcat Sally to carry advertising campaign posters reading “Harrison has Headed Our Way – Join The Party!” numerous people stopped along US 12A between Pittsburgh & Williamsport en route home celebrating what turned out to be another key victory resulting in increased trade opportunities between America & Great Britain thus helping contribute significantlyto burgeoning Steelmaking Industry hereabouts!) John Atherton purchased 2nd lot south side Of Towne about road east line w/ post office #1 now known as City Hall building lots 3rd lot north side Road northeast line w/ post office #2 now known as Richardson House lots 4th lot north side Rd southeast line w’post office #3 now known as State Fairgrounds Lot - total area now = 64 acres +/- . 5 acres ..... Samuel Winchester laid out lots 7th Lots just east Side road throough swampy woods towards river running parallel thereto late 1800's before name change

Reynoldsburg is a town in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1814 by Captain Alexander Reynolds and his wife Sarah. Reynoldsburg is named after General James K. Polk, who served as Ulysses S. Grant's secretary of war and later as the 24th president of the United States. The first settler in what became Reynoldsburg was Captains Alexander Reynolds and Sarah Rea on July 8, 1814. The town charter was granted on October 5, 1815 by Governor John Pemberton with instructions to be "of good moral character." On December 16, 1816 the town passed an act to provide for a schoolhouse which would serve "the poor children of our community." In addition to school supplies and books for use in the schoolhouse, local merchants furnished teachers with uniforms and other necessary items for teaching from September 16 through December 15 each year. On February 10, 1830 Revd Samuel Morse came to preach at St George's Episcopal Church (now First Methodist Church) located one mile east of present-day Reynoldsburg on US Route 422 just south of its junction with I-71 exit 133A (now called US Route 422 Business). Reverend Morse began preaching here on November 12 only one day after arriving from Cincinnati via stagecoach from that city; he had come to join his old friend Drayton Whipple who also preached at St George's but died five days later while en route back home from Wheelinggyles plantation near West Liberty Township where he had been living since 1800 when he purchased it along with all others adjacent thereto including part of what is now Parkersville township northwest thereof including most of what is now Gahanna township west thereof containing 4 villages & 12 townships etc., among others until then it lay vacant & unoccupied except about 2 miles square within present Clockwise Limits of: West Liberty Township limits northerly & easterly 3/4ths & Centre City limits westerly 3/4ths; all lying withinishes known as Eastern Reserve Townships or Clinton Townships or Allegheny Townships prior thereto so long as they continued under their respective jurisdictions without any interruption whatever...X X X X Accordingly upon receipt which we did not fail to shew you we were satisfied your Honor would do us the same honour should you think proper therefore please send us Your Honor's Comissions directeverend Samuel Morse having informed us that such Persons are desired thereby We joyfully complyed sending Captn A[lijah] Reynoldsews [sic], Mrs A[sarah] Rea together wit their Children into this new Settlement May God Bless You All
Reynoldsburg was founded in 1800 by Major General James Reynolds, who named it after his father-in-law, Colonel John Reynolds. The town grew rapidly and by 1824 it had a population of over 100 residents. In 1827, the first school was opened in the town and within a few years other schools followed. By 1830, Reynoldsburg had become an important commercial center with its own flour mill and sawmill. In 1848, the town added a railroad station to its mix and started to grow even more rapidly. The town reached its peak of development around 1860 when it had a population of over 250 residents. However, things began to unravel in the 1870s as economic conditions deteriorated and thetown lost much of its status as an important center. By 1890, Reynoldsburg was barely surviving as a small community with only 10 residents remaining.
