The Reynoldsburg Gun Range was established in 1907 by George A. Reynolds and the range continued to be run by his descendants until it closed in 1975. The range was located on a tract of land that is now used for agricultural purposes. Reynoldsburg's early history is reflective of the community itself, which was founded in 1847 as a small village on the Scioto River near present-day Cincinnati. At its peak, the population of Reynoldsburg totaled around 100 residents and it served as an important stop on the Underground Railroad. By 1900, however, the town had shrunk to just 16 residents and its role within Ohio declined following railroad construction nearby. In 1954, Reynoldsburg voters passed a proposition authorizing the creation of a park named in honor of George A. Reynolds, who had been mayor at the time of passage and helped finance the park project. The range reopened in 1957 after being renovated and enlarged with new targets and equipment. Today, Reynoldsburg remains one of America's most popular gun ranges, with more than 2 million visitors each year visiting its facilities throughout central Ohio!

The Reynoldsburg Rifle and Pistol Club was formed in 1892. The club bought a rifle from the local manufacturer in 1894 and started target shooting. The club also purchased pistols from the same company in 1895. In 1899, the club moved to its current location on North Market Street. In 1912, the Reynoldsburg Rifle and Pistol Club built a new clubhouse on West Market Street which remains their home today. In 1916, the club voted to adopt an NRA Constitution and by 1922, all members of the Reynoldsburg Rifle & Pistol Club were NRA certified instructors. In 1927, the Reynoldsburg Rifle & Pistol Club donated land to be used for future shooting ranges and a pistol range was established soon thereafter. In 1938, membership grew to over 100 individuals and in 1940 they moved into their present building on North Market Street which continues to serve as their home today.

Reynoldsburg is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbus metropolitan area. The first settler in Reynoldsburg was James Reynolds who came to the area in 1816. He and his family created a small community on land they bought from the Miami tribe of Indians. The village was named for John Reynolds, an Englishman who had come to America as a fur trader in 1795. In 1824, James Gadsden founded Gadsden Heights on what is now Delaware Avenue in downtown Reynoldsburg. This settlement grew rapidly due to its location and its easy access to transportation by wagon road and stagecoach. By 1830, Gadsden Heights contained over 100 houses and 2 churches. In 1835, Judge David Fenton purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) of land east of Delaware Avenue from James Gadsden for $5 per acre ($23 per km²). This area eventually became known as Reynoldsburg Township because it lay within that township when it was organized into Stark County in 1840. Judge Fenton built the first brick house in Reynoldstown on this tract of land which he called "Fenton's Hill." The town began rapid growth from its incorporation as a village on November 3, 1840; by December 1st there were 252 residents living in 131 buildings. The first school opened in June of that year and continued operation until February 14th,1846 when classes were suspended due to lack of teachers; instead children attended local militias during the War with Mexico (1846-48). In September 1850 US Representative George Hinkle arrived at Reynoldsburg with his family forInitial studies at nearby Bowling Green State University before moving permanently to Athens after winning election as US Congressman representing Ohio’s 6th congressional district (1851-55). congressman Hinkle’s wife Anna died suddenly while he was away so he married her sister Esther Newcomb Hinkle on October 30th 1857 just two months after becoming speaker pro tempore of the House under President Franklin D Roosevelt (1932-45). Reynoldsburg was founded in 1795 by General James Wayne and his wife, Catrina. The town grew rapidly and by 1803, it had a population of over 1,000 people. In the 1830s, Reynoldsburg became an important stop on the Underground Railroad because of its location near the main road between Cincinnati and Cleveland. After the end of the American Civil War, Reynoldsburg continued to grow as a manufacturing center. Many companies such as Gales Ferry Iron Works and Bendix Air Force Base were established in Reynoldsburg during this time. In 1970, Reynoldsburg was renamed to honor Ulysses S. Grant after he became president of the United States.
