It attaches to both rifles and handguns with picatinny rails, making it possible to mount various accessories on top or below the rifle or handgun instance. Some people find that this style makes it difficult to get an ideal shooting position while others find it more versatile than using a Weaver-style gun swivel because it can be turned in any direction which gives greater range when targeting multiple targets simultaneously.
