Reynoldsburg is a small town in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,539 at the 2010 census. The town is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Reynoldsburg was founded in 1814 by General David Wilkinson and has been home to a number of prominent people including Daniel Webster and James K. Polk. The first homes in present-day Reynoldsburg were built on land that was donated by General Wilkinson in 1814. It wasn't until 1830 that the town began trading goods with other communities in central Ohio; this started when Captain John Fenton imported goods from Philadelphia to sell at the then new Reynoldsburgh store (now called The Post Office). In 1837, Colonel George Stephenson bought 640 acres of land east of downtown for $1 per acre ($10 per hectare) – this was later renamed Stephenson Park after him – which became the nucleus of what would become Rollins Township. Reynoldsburg is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located in the Ashland-Ulysses Township subdivision of Ashland County. The population was 1,353 at the 2010 census. The main thoroughfare through town is Reynoldsburg Road, which connects it toAshland and Athens counties on the east side of the Cuyahoga River. The first settlement in what is now Reynoldsburg was made by James Reynolds and others in 1796 when they traveled down the Cuyahoga River from Holland to find land for themselves and their families. By 1800, over 100 people lived here including some who had come from Virginia by way of Great Lakes ports such as Toronto and Buffalo. In 1802, John Reynolds built a log cabin on the bank ofthe river near present-day downtown Reynoldsburg. He named his home "Bethlehem," after Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (then under British occupation). In 1814, General Nathan Bedford Forrest invaded Canada during the War of 1812 and raided settlements along the upper Cuyahoga River where he foundries and other manufacturing sites that later became part of Akron's steel mills district. Afterward, many American settlers moved into this area because it was free from military service requirements imposed on Canadian towns along these valleys. One such settler was James Aiken who moved to Ohio in 1815 after meeting General Forrest at battle site near modern-day Cleveland Heights (now part of Cleveland). On July 4th, 1830, a group led by William McKinley attended a public gathering in Reynoldsburg to celebrate America's centennial year (1830–1910). The event served as an important rallying cry for American nationalism during this time period when many people felt left behind by events leading up to America's independence from Great Britain two years earlier. This event also helped jumpstart what would become known as Main Street Development in nearby Akron which included developing downtown streetscape with stone storefronts and high rises beginning around 1830s throughout central Ohio communities like Cincinnati, Dayton etc." A number of businesses were established within days or weeks following McKinley's appearance including one run by local resident David Goodrich called Goodrich & Co., Merchants Bankers Company No 2(). For many years thereafter until World War II there were numerous small businesses operating out of homes or other locations around town due largely to lackadaisical attitudes about business ownership back then compared with today's values where entrepreneurship is seen as keyto success both professionally and personally."
