Ravenna was a town in northeastern Ohio, United States, until the early 20th century. It is now part of the city of Cleveland. Ravenna had a population of about 10,000 in 1830 and about 25,000 by 1870. The first airguns were made here in 1876 by Fenton Waddell and John Soper. This company continued making airguns until 1934 when it merged with Browning Automatic Rifle Company to become Browning-Arsenal Corporation. From then on, all Browning-Arsenal guns were branded under one name or another (Browning–Action Arms Corporation through 1968), until they were finally retired from production in 1991.

Ravenna is a city in the Commonwealth of Ohio, United States. The population was 42,471 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Ravenna County. The first permanent settler in what is now Ravenna Township was Nicholas Bacon and his family in 1796. In 1801, John Stephenson founded a grist mill on the south side of what is now Delaware Avenue, which became known as "Stapler's Mill". In 1814, David Linn opened a general store on Delaware Avenue that served as the town's center until 1825 when it moved to its present location at Sixth Street and Erie Boulevard. That year, two churches were built; one by Methodist Episcopal missionaries John Doherty and James Quinn and dedicated on October 7th, 1825 while the other by Rev. George Tilton dedicated on December 15th with intent to serve both denominations simultaneously but only did so for about three months before it burned down. Other early businesses included an insurance office (1820), harness shop (1824), bakery (1827), blacksmith shop (1829), tailor shop ( 1830-34), dry goods store (February 9th 1830 - May 4th 1832) and flour market day store(October 24th 1830). By 1840 there were six stores in town with twenty five employees total including four war Veterans who served during the Mexican–American War living quarters near Main Street between Second and Third Streets among others In 1850, land was donated by Joshua Green to form part of new township which would become Ravenna Township under Act No 8 of 1850 following approval from The General Assembly having been ratified February 5th 1850 On November 1st 1853 eastern section of township was organized as Scioto County under Ohio General Laws Anno 3rd §27 et seq With this change all township functions within Ravenna Creek area reverted back to township control with powers granted to board for Newburg Road eastward from Scioto line . accordingly On January 1st 1865 village status was restored to Ravenna Village Incorporated effective date thereof however village never exercised its powers therein because state intervention restored full power & authority thereto to township
