In 1898, local resident George Wurts designed and printed the first T-shirt with a printing machine in Pickerington. The shirt featured an enlargement of a revolver cartridge case that read "Pickerington Pistolero" ( Pistolero being an honorific given to police officers). This design was aimed at promoting peaceable acquittal activities among firearms enthusiasts throughout the surrounding community. Throughout much of twentieth century, T-shirts featuring firearm images were popular among NRA members throughout Ohio Valley because they represented patriotism and Second Amendment rights without any political correctness or asterisks. Pickerington, Ohio is a town in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,869 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Stark County. The first European to visit Pickerington was Captain James Cook on his final voyage of discovery in 1768. Cook named it "Esquimalt" after a nearby island and land grant he received from the local chief. In 1801, General Washington appointed George Rogers Clark as the first governor of Indiana Territory and made Pickerington one of his two territorial capitals. The permanent capital moved to Indianapolis in 1825 following the Treaty of Algiers ending the War for Independence and ended French control over Canada. In 1863, during the American Civil War, Pickerington became an important Confederate stronghold because its strategic location along State Road 7 provided essential access to central Illinois for munitions and supplies going southward. Union forces destroyed most of Pickerington's buildings but continued to hold out inside their fortifications until April 1865 when they capitulated unconditionally at Appomattox Court House near Richmond Virginia after five months of bloody fighting against overwhelming odds. During World War II, picketingtons served with distinction in all three branches of the military - infantry (in tanks), artillery (in bombers) and naval gunfire support (VS-3s). They also produced many items for war production such as radios, tires and building materials which helped contribute significantly to Allied victory over Axis forces during World War II. After World War II ended there were major real estate developments throughout Pickerington--the largest being apartment buildings built around 1975 that can be found today on Third Street between Grand Avenue and Harrison Avenue across from South High School

Pickerington is a town in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,710 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cleveland, Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Pickerington was Nicholas Pickering who arrived in 1796 from Northumberland Township, Pennsylvania. Pickerington was platted on March 3, 1814 by James Ketchum and others under the name of "New Harmony." The town site was selected because it had a deep well and easy access to water supplies for farming purposes. In 1827 the township's trustees changed its name to Muskingum County and developed land east of present-day Pickerington into what is now Muskingum Township. In 1837 William Mosely built a log cabin on what is now Park Avenue near modern-day Meridian Road. The first store opened in that location in 1840 and became known as Mosely's Store & grocery. The village grew rapidly with more stores opening until it reached its peak around 1860 when only nine businesses exist today due to development elsewhere during that time period along with an influx of settlers from New England and other parts of America. The last major store closed down around 1975 when picketingtons Post Office moved out of their original building on Euclid Avenue which had been used for decades as an agricultural auction barn before being abandoned due to budget cuts at the government facility nearby. At that point most people were either farmers or small traders using local resources instead of travelling long distances for goods unavailable or difficult to find outside their community such as woolen fabrics or hardware products found only in larger cities or rural areas like Milwaukee or Cincinnati where prices were much lower than hereabouts due to transportation costs alone). After years of decline local residents decided in 1988 not to pursue restoring the old building but rather use it as a cultural resource center hosting historical demonstrations and exhibits related thereto until it burned down six years later while open during one weekend each year starting May 4 through October 10th (the nearest historical marker still remains just east off I-90 between exits 5A & 5B serving as a reminder) until finally demolition started mid-2013 after numerous complaints about potential damage done over time by various visitors who sprayed paint o n several structures including an old stagecoach stop also left unprotected; however no charges ever resulted as officials determined there was no willful damage despite repeated attempts by some membersOf Town Council To arrears resulting In Thorough Inspection Of All Facilities Which Failed Such Arequirement) .
