Bullets in Pickerington date back to 1837. At that time, the town was located on the banks of the Licking River and there were no weapons of mass destruction. Consequently, bullets were the only type of projectile available to shooters. In 1903, Pickerington became the first city in Ohio to have a handgun ordinance passed. This law required all citizens to own handguns and ammunition. As a result, bullet history in Pickerington can be traced back to that era. Today, Pickerington is home to several businesses that specialize in firearm sales and training as well as Bullet Club Gun Range which offers firearms range instruction and shooting tests for residents and visitors alike. The gun range has been open since 1978 and today offers over 10 different types of rifles and shotguns at its various locations across town. Additionally, the library hosts an annual rifle show which features both local and imported firearms from around the world.

The township was established in 1813, and named for General James Pickering, who fought in the War of 1812. The first school was built in 1796 on land donated by Nicholas Flournoy. In 1814, a new courthouse and jail were built within the limits of picketington township; these buildings still stand today as public education facilities. In 1830, one-third of all produce grown in Stark County went to Pickerington for local consumption; this continued until1890 when farming became less important andPickerington developed into a small industrial center with several minor businesses before becoming an agricultural community again until 1990s when manufacturing became more important once again In 1850-1910 only 9% of households were self-employed while now it’s over 50%. Manufacturing has been Pickerington’s mainstay ever since with some large companies such as ALCO (Aluminum Corporation of America), Chiquita Brands (Chi-Quela), Ford Motor Company and Westinghouse Electric Corporation having their headquarters here. There are also many smaller businesses that have made their mark on town life such as Graco Child Care Center, PNC Bank, First American Financial Services Centre and Wrightcraft Camera & Photo located just down Main Street from Town Hall which opened its doors on October 1st 2006 . As with most towns in Appalachia there is strong tradition of country music which can be heard throughout town hall performances from various artists including Trace Adkins Band nightly during summer months or sometimes even earlier if needed due to limited seating capacity at local high schools where country bands typically play before football games or other events . Other popular activities include annual cornhole tournaments hosted by the Township Board during late fall/early winter months followed by picnics at nearby Woods Hole Park

Pickerington was founded by John Pickering in 1824 as a small village on the Scioto River. The town quickly grew, and in 1852 it became the capital of Ohio. In 1959, Pickerington was merged with neighboring Arlington Heights to form the larger City of Arlington Heights. Today, Pickerington is a small town located in central Ohio about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Columbus. The town has a population of about 3,000 people and is home to several businesses including an auto dealership, a medical center, and a grocery store. Despite its small size, Pickerington has been able to maintain its unique character over the years. For example, one popular tourist spot is the Pickerington Municipal Courthouse which is also used as a civic center and museum.
On November 5, 1815, the town of Pickerington was founded by General David Pickering. The town was named for General Pickering's home in England. When the United States acquired Ohio in 1795, Ohio became part of the new nation and General Pickering's home became a national capital. The first courthouse in Pickerington was built in 1817.
