Perrysburg is a small town in the U.S. state of Ohio, located about 20 miles north of Dayton and 25 miles east of Columbus. The population was 9,812 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1814 by General David Holmes and his family as part of a land grant to George Washington from the Shawneepiing tribe. Perrysburg developed slowly until the early 1800s when it became an important trade center for farmers in central Ohio. In 1840, he laid out a township plan which included three blocks square – each bounded by Range Line Road (now Old US-26), Third Street (now Kettering Avenue), and Fourth Street (now Republic Boulevard). In 1850–1851, four other men bought 1/4 mile (0.6 km) northwest of Kapp's initial purchase from John Sibley for $2 per acre ($20 million adjusted 2007 value). These men were Timothy Hennepin Sr., Elijah Smith Sr., Daniel Parker Jr., and Nicholas Biddle; all men who would later be associated with Minneapolis Minnesota company Hennepin Coal & Coke Company Limited Partnership v United States et al.. The new owners began developing land adjacent to their original holdings as well as further north along Range Line Road into what is currently called North Park Township because it had been designated as such by then-Ulysses S Grant during his presidency in 1868 when he made forest Preserve No 11 within present day PERRYSBURG Township boundaries! The first buildings were built on this new property: a schoolhouse and store on Third Street between Union Boulevard and Kettering Avenue; a blacksmith shop on Fourth Street between Republic Boulevard and Kettering Avenue; a gristmill on Union Boulevard betweenkettering Avenue and First Street; a sawmill on First Street between Republic Boulevard and Kettering Avenue; two churches – First Presbyterian Church (now Christ Episcopal Parish) at Independence Square south of kettering avenue westward past range line road across intersection with Second street eastward past Union Boulevard southwest corner with Third street near park entrance... these buildings remain standing today including portions that are used as public housing insideNorth Park Township limits! From this point forward many more businesses opened up around Perrysburg including grocery stores - Grosvenor’s Store at 3rd & Elm Streets soon followed by Sprague’s Grocery at 4th & Elm Streets - Drug Stores - Powers Hardware at 5th & Main Streets - Wartime Supply Depot at 6th & Main Streets before finally becoming extinct after military service ended World War II! Today only one building remains remaining from those days which is now known as “The Schoolhouse” which still stands vacant inside North Park Township limits today! One popular summer activity hereabouts was swimming – especially during years when Lake Erie was high enough so that swimmers could reach both face down in its depths or kick back while taking sips from cooluploads created next to Erie Dam just upstream! One memorable season resulted in over 100 boys swimming across Erie while wearing nothing but shorts not knowing how hot it really got outside... they managed to swim all the way back home without any problem despite having lost some very good body parts along the way!! Unfortunately recent rains have caused significant damage to many facilities hereabouts making swimming difficult if not impossible outright!!!
