This period also marked a significant milestone for Perrysburg with its incorporation into the United States as a town on November 15th 1865 under the name "Perrystown." Over time though there have been occasional changes to its name – most notably when it changed back to "Perrysburgh" on September 13th 1978 – reflecting both its current location within Lawrence County as well as wider trends affecting towns throughout Northeast Ohio during this time frame (e.g., increasing suburbanization).
