Perrysburg is a town in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 21,518 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dayton–Daytona Beach–Miamisburg, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area and is located about 50 miles (80 km) east of Cincinnati and 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Cleveland. The area that would become Perrysburg was first settled by German settlers in 1795 and named for George Perry, an officer in the Continental Army who died during the Northwest Indian War. The town was established on land donated by Nicholas Fenton in 1814 as a planned village with a courthouse, jail, schoolhouse and other public buildings. In 1825, Perrysburg became part of what would become Medina County when it was created from parts of Scioto Township and Union Township. The county seat changed to Perrysburg three times between 1825 and 1881: first to Parma, then to Xenia, then to Beech Grove. The post office at Perrysburg was founded in 1824, but did not open until1828. In 1861, when Ohio became a slave state following the American Civil War, residents traveled to Montgomery County to buy free slaves there before returning home to sell their property back into slavery. As a result of this migration, many African Americans were born or raised in Perrysburg throughout its history; one local historian has called it "the most black-owned town in America." In 1865 Congress passed legislation designating Perrysburg as an important railroad junction for operations southward along the Unions River Valley Railroad; thus starting what would be known as "the Great Migration", which increased the population from small towns throughout central Ohio including nearby Dayton and Xenia to over 100K by 1880 thanks largely to large influxes of Irish immigrants who had come through Cincinnati en route to new theaters across Illinois using the Erie Canal system). After years of growth due largely to agricultural production rather than industry or immigration (which had stalled during prohibition), Perrysburg reached its peak population size (and some level of prosperity) around World War II before gradually declining since that time due mainly Toppling Hill Drive becoming one continuous arterial street serving more populous areas outside downtown while businesses closed down near city limits as prohibition ended Dutch resistance against legalization efforts within their community while others moved away looking for jobs outside Prohibition-era America; after which decline continued until reaching current levels today despite sporadic bursts of growth through various redevelopment projects throughout recent decades noticed mostly among younger generations who are more likely oriented towards less Restrictive zoning ordinances enacted recently which have led more businesses back into business although overall poverty remains widespread

Perrysburg is a small town in the northwestern part of Ohio, United States. The population was 3,291 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butler County. The town was founded in 1811 by General James Wilkinson and settlers from Delaware and Pennsylvania. Perrysburg was named for Captain John Perry who fought with George Washington in the American Revolution. The community developed as a agricultural center and served as the capital of Butler County from 1815 to 1819. In 1870, Perrysburg became an incorporated municipality and its citizens voted to name their town after General Ulysses S. Grant, who had been president of the United States during Reconstruction years in America. The first settler in Perrysburg arrived in what is now the town on December 14, 1811, when General James Wilkinson set out from Wilmington Township with his family to found a new home near what would later be called "the forks" of the Scioto River because those were then two points where water flowed into that river system. At that time there were only woods and open fields around this area so land must have been acquired via purchase or gift from others since it would not have been possible for any one person to settle here permanently without assistance from others! Upon arriving at his new home, General Wilkinson hired six other men to help him clear a piece of land for farming - something which could not have been done without many people working together! On January 12th,1812 General Wilkinson's 122 acre lot became part of present day Butler County when it was surveyed by Captain William Clark! From that date forward our vibrant community grew steadily! In 1815-16Captain William Clark surveyered what is now Perrysburg Township & laid out lots for sale within it; he did this knowing full well how important this township would become soon after becoming part of Butler County !!! This first effort by Capt Clark led directly to our incorporation as an incorporated municipality on November 15th 1870 !!! With over 3000 residents already living here we knew we had something special going on !!!!!!! One can only imagine all that has transpired since then – growth, progress !!!!!!!!!!!!! Today we are proud supporters of local businesses & arts programs across all levels – amazing considering just how small we once were !!!!!!
Perrysburg is a city in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 7,636 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. The town began as a small community on the north side of Perrysburg Creek in 1811, and then developed along the creek's east bank into an important commercial center during the 19th century. Businesses included mills, breweries, and sugar refineries; many residents also worked in nearby Akron. In 1892, Perrysburg became the county seat of Perry County after it was moved from its original location to central Ohio. In 1924, local voters approved a $25 million bond referendum to build a new high school and Arena football stadium as part of plans for statewide modernization. The facility was completed in 1927 and became home to the now-defunct University Heights High School (later Perrysburg Community Middle School). The high school closed in 1985 but is still used as a municipally run library system branch south of town. Today, Perrysburg remains one of America's most significant communities for agriculture; its largest employer is Proctor Farms Inc., which operates over 60 farms located within walking distance of downtown. A variety of other smaller businesses operate within easy reach of downtown including restaurants, hardware stores, job centers and more; overall it feels like "a small town that’s big on culture."
