Perrysburg is a town in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. The population was 5,824 at the 2010 census. It is located on the southern edge of the city of Cleveland and is part of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Perrysburg were Seth Warner and his family who arrived in 1795 from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. They founded a small farming village called Warnerstown on the west bank of the Mahoning River near present-day Mayfield Heights. In 1802 Seth's son Eli Sr., also a farmer, built what would become Perrysburg's first house and store. In 1813 he married Rachelle Greenleaf and they established Greenleaf Tavern as their homeport. In 1814 John Leland moved to Perrysburg from Portsmouth Township, Virginia with his wife Esther and children John (1793-1871), Jane (1800-1872), Ishmael (1801-1875), Nancy (1804-1877) and Solomon (august 4th, 1796 - december 21st 1865). He had been born in Augusta County, Virginia on august 4th,1796 according to US Census records but probably date of birth was December 21st 1865 because he died two days after that date having an operation for appendicitis at age 49 years old in Grafton Hospitalomas

During the antebellum period, Perrysburg was an agricultural village located on the banks of the Scioto River. The village was home to around 100 residents and consisted of just a few buildings that were used for farming or trade purposes. In 1838, following purchase of land by John C. Frick and his brothers, the community grew rapidly and began to build new homes. By 1860, Perrysburg had increased its population to over 200 people and several businesses had been established including a gristmill, millinery store and post office. In 1892, after years of planning and construction, Perrysburg became one of America's first industrial cities when itbecame home to The Lima Rubber Company. This company manufactured rubber products for both domesticand export markets and helped catalyze economic development in the area. The company left Perrysburg in 1978 but their legacy remains strong today with multiple restaurants,. local bars and nightlife options,, two high school campuses,, numerous museum titles,, plus many other cultural landmarks.
