In 1836, the Perrysburg Rifle and Pistol Club was organized in Perrysburg, Ohio. The club had a request for a target to be erected on the town square. A committee was formed and it decided that a rifle target would be best. The first target was erected in 1840 and lasted until 1851. In 1853, the club moved its target to the current location on High Street which still stands today. The targets are made from heavy wood with a green cloth background and have traditional NRA markings on them.

Perrysburg also became well known as a center for professional services such as engineering consulting, accounting firms and law firms; many local companies remain active today thanks to their proximity to key industry corridors. In addition to these traditional industries, however, recent years have seen growth in arts & entertainment sectors including cafés/bars popular among downtown workers during lunchtime or evening out; development around riverfront parks that offer opportunities for public access while providing social space for locals; and growth in light industrial employment areas within walking distance of downtown cores across much of eastern Ohio despite stiff competition from more established metropolises such as Columbus or Cleveland due to lower labor costs associated with open-air manufacturing sites."

The first permanent settler in Perrysburg was Nicholas Capps and his family who arrived in 1795 from Connecticut. They were among the first white settlers on what would later become Medina County. A school district was organized in 1838 and three churches were built: First Presbyterian, Second Baptist and Methodist. In 1892, Perrysburg became an incorporated village with a library, post office and two schools as its sole services. The growth of industry led to increased demand for jobs and housing in the early 21st century which has caused pressure on the local economy; however, recent development projects have helped to reverse some of these negative trends. A large fire destroyed much of downtown Perrysburg during World War II; however redevelopment has since started that has helped to revive downtown business activity as well as increase property values for residents within walking distance of both public libraries and retail stores
