When the American Revolution began in 1775, many patriots felt that arms were necessary for self-defense. The Second Continental Congress decided to Summon a Committee of Safety to study gun safety. The committee recommended that all men be allowed to keep firearms for their own protection and also recommended that shotguns not be carried around with individuals. The first gun safe was built in Perrysburg in 1781 by John Armstrong. It consisted of two barrels connected by a hinge and held together by four latches. To use the safe, one had to open the barrel door and place their hand inside the space between the two barrels. At that time, guns were typically unloaded and stored on top of a chest or behind some shelves in a home. In 1802, Amos Dickson built a three-story powder magazine in Perrysburg which he called “the Capitol” after Washington’s White House on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington D.C., which he had used as his private quarters from 1789-1793 when he was Minister at Paris under George Washington. This new building became known statewide as “Dickson’s Hill” due to its location atop this hill where weapons could be stored safely without fear of being stolen or damaged during renovations or repairs done on other buildings on the hilltop (see photo below). In 1815, John Church built an addition to his house on High Street which served as both his home and office until his death in 1836 at age 86 years old (see photo below). In 1851, Charles Wittenberg added another story onto his house (now part of Parkview Manor) which doubled as his personal armory until his death aged 92 years old (see photo below). On November 11th 1861, Hiram Peck published an article about Gun Safes & Ammunition Safety entitled "A Gun Safe & Ammo Storage Place". This article is now considered classic NRA literature!

In 1907, the Perrysburg Armory was built and the company began to produce safe products for that facility. Perrysburg is a small town in Perry County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1825 and named for John Perry, an early settler. The first store in Perrysburg opened on Main Street in 1827. In 1830, the township was organized andJohn Hays donated land to form what is now downtown Perrysburg. The first post office was established in 1831 and operated until it closed in 1907. In 1845, a schoolhouse and two churches were built by order of Congressman John A. Campbell as part of a statewide educational reform movement known as "The Great Awakening." The townships around Perrysburg began to build schools as well, but only one graduated from high school before 1860 because there were no colleges or universities within walking distance of any townships north of Cincinnati. In 1865, the main line between Cleveland and Cincinnati was completed through Perrysburg making it easier for people to get goods and services needed for their businesses outside of central Ohio without having to go farfetched distances or take multiple days off work to do so. Businesses soon started popping up all over town with names like "Mr.'s Store", "Mrs.'s Shop", "The Druggist's Place" etcetera (due largely to this new transportation option). Even though business grew quickly during this time period there wasn't enough room or space available for everyone soumbletown developed more annexes which are found today such as North Park Avenue/McDonald's Drive-in Plaza (now known as SouthPark) and much later - the now defunct City Market Annex which housed many local businesses including several restaurants still open today across several blocks near University Parkway/Highway 231A). It wasn't until 1870 when a large addition called the Western Depot became reality which housed many local shops underneath one roof becoming one of the most popular shopping districts east of Cleveland just minutes away from downtown! As more people moved into town center throughout the 1800s various stores either relocated out into larger buildings or even constructed indoor malls complete with restaurants and other retail tenants that remain active today such as JCPenney outlet mall located just east off I-71 exit 93B), Sears Tower located on Liberty Road between Highways 68th & 71st Streets adjacent to PNC Arena (now home to Overstock), Macy's anchors located on Elmira Road adjacent to Race Track Rd./State Fairgrounds along with numerous smaller independent retailers dotting every nook & cranny throughout downtown perrysburg today! Today business vitality continues unabated with both residential expansion happening concurrently – most notably along State Fairgrounds Boulevard where several large multi level homes have been erected recently – creating what has come to be known as Downtown Perrysburg District –formerly anchored by JCPenney & Macy's while also including apartments/condos going up throughout city center; 3CDC anchor announced plans for significantlylarger mixed use development at corner of 7th street & fairgrounds rd., pending zoning changes currently under review; additional development lately announced includes 5 stories apartment tower being built next door existing movie theater complex slated for demolition

Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House in Virginia. This event marked the end of the American Civil War and brought much sadness to Perrysburg residents. The town acquired its current name after General Ulysses S. Grant issued an executive order naming it for his predecessor, Abraham Lincoln. Because of this history, many local businesses continue to carry names associated with both Lincoln and Grant including "Grant's Store" and "Lincoln Park." Today, Perrysburg is a thriving community with a rich cultural heritage that attracts visitors from all over Northeast Ohio. Its downtown district features several historic buildings dating back to 1830 including The Old Courthouse Square building which was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Additionally, there are several dozen restaurants and cafes located throughout downtown as well as several shopping malls across the city limits that offer unique shopping experiences for locals and tourists alike.
